Ouch! that one hurt lads, didnt deserve to go through, general play Ok, but cant score at the moment and talking about clown keepers, it looks like we have one on that display. He must have been coached by the same coach as Arsenals keeper last night, it was just as bad, what is wrong with just picking the ball up?
I have to finish on a gripe though, the refs supposed to stop the game when there is a head injury and the cross came in where smalling would have been covering as he was lay prostrate in the area.
You know me, I am always confident, but if Vidic is out long term and Evans is his replacement then we can kiss goodbye to everything here and now. They were blaming smalling for the second goal but the ball came right through evans yet again in centre defence and it happens every time he plays.

First let me say I was at that final and will never forget that Seaman moment but aint its great that we can even rest the main kepper as the game was irrelavent as we had qualified already.
Well the european frieght rover awaits I have been saying for a long time that a side playing that bad and nicking games could not go on forever 7 or 8 with a single goal, you kept making excuses and now the ultimate has happened and utd are screwed by that Great european side Basel. as in Faulty. Your rose coloured glasses have now had to be smashed and the cost to the club will be immesnse. It will limit the players you can sign to sort out the problems without top class european footie. NOW ADMIT YOU HAVE PROBLEMS!!!

Great result against the Krauts second team but with 10 points City are Gone a major let down for the most powerful squad in europe, But we knew that without hell of a lot of luck it was already decided. no wI just heard you boss call the europa a major trophy, is that a joke!!!!!!!!
The both of your teams are now with Spurs able to concentrate on the prem with the London boy keeping up Englands end alone. The inability for Mancester to produce a qualifing side has made it our worst CL ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy the moment. plenty of players available in the window wanting CL Footie and we have the choice as 2 out of 4 have gone. I can see the season only progressing well as the injuries we have had all now seem to be ending, can you imagine spurs surving with as many out as us. I think we will only continue in the same direction we have since our awful start, UPWARDS

Morning Fellas
Enjoyed the game last night. Bayern looked a pretty strong side even without some major players. Honest truth about the Champions league!!! Not really that gutted. Probably because we're not used to it yet.
I went to 5 of the six matches missing only Bayern away on my way to New Zealand. Lads that went to Bayern said we were second best but should have been 2-0 up in less than 5 mins and 2 nailed on pens. Napoli managed a draw at our place and looked ok. Last minute win at home to Villareal followed by a sound walloping of them in Spain. Game which did for us was in Naples. How do you lose with 71% possesion in an away leg. I saw some of our best football this season. Then we beat Bayern
From afar and quietly I've listened to the Twaddlemeister telling me we were going out this week and it was the end of the world??? Dakey as I mentioned after the Palace embarrasment, your team are just not very good. I was absolutely certain you'd lose in Switzerland.
Well done you "other London teams" heh heh, hope one of you manages to get the Cypriots in the next round.
I'm struggling a bit with the gloating but results count for everything I suppose.
Quick facts. Only 4 other occasions has a team gone out with 10 points. We would without a doubt, qualified above both of your sides in your groups. Dakeys team's group was unbelivably week. Start seeing what we see Dakey.
We are currently playing our best football of the season. All these wonderful runs by Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal don't count for too much. Records are tumbling. Not just this seasons but in premiership history. We now have 7 more goals than anyone has had at this stage of a season. Only 8 times have teams had a +20 or better gd. We have +35.
Napoli had better not fall over like Italians now at the next hurdle. lol

im in sharm at the moment taking in some winter sun
sweating a bit on the monday game as you seem to have a hold over us at the moment. But whatever as long as we requalify for cl i hope you win the league as i think in silva you have the best player in the pl.

Please dont do a Dakey and play down the importance of the CL now your out. It is the aim of every team to Qualify at the seasons start as it is the most important comp in europe Still very unlucky going out with 10 in a difficuly group it would have been top in other groups Mind you one of the reasons is the money the CL produces and on that score you prob dont care.
The current record s you are breaking are deserved and you are quite within your rights as they are applicable to now, but can we all stop now quoting the past and get on with the future. The worst result for ur lot is that Utd failed as well and will only probably have the PL to concentrate on by the middle of Jan unless u count Europa, But as you said not bothered about CL so what does that make the Europa!!!!!!!!!

Both our lots have been up and down so enjoy the moment but lets not harp on about the Manchester demise in the CL less english through the weaker we become as a league in europe.

Fellas,
Had a night to think about it and now have got a second wind. Neil made a good point and although I am obviously gutted to be out and quite apart fron the fact I cant gloat about the bitters demise, it is obvious that we have a very serious chalenge for our league title and with hindsight and the seemingly relentless run of bad injuries to key players, I dont think we could have coped with a grueling CL slog, get beat at the end of it by Barca and still hold off City who will be playing a reserve team in the Europa League. Now we can play weakened teams in Europe and give the league our full attention...... Lets hope we get some easy FA Cup draws after the 3rd round as well.

I will be putting my full support behind the gunners in Europe as I like your football. I am sorry though I cannot bring myself to back mini me City (Chelsea) for all the tea in China.

I,m sorry if I appeared to give the impression of playing the comp down. In all honesty and I've looked back through my previous postings, I don't see it as my must win immediately competition. Because we have not previously been involved, I see our continued improvement and qualification as pretty awesome. Before this season we had never previously won a game in the European cup, now we have 3. We are undoubtedly at the moment, by far thje best team in England and our qualification failure doesn't affect this.
We are favourites to win 4 trophies this season with the bookies. Considering we've won one in36 years, that's kinda exciting.
I'd like to win the Premier league in early march but if not, with 3 games to go at home to Utd will be fine.
My other failing which you guys will differ from, is that being Scottish i'm not bothered in the slightest about other English teams doing well. Without City in Europe for years, I used to go to watch Barca or either of the Milan teams that were at home aswell as Rangers.
I think Real Madrid might push Barca this year, with possibly Bayern as an outsider.
At 11 oclock last night when I arrived back, my wife said how sorry she was we were out but at least we'd have fewer excuses not to go to Condado. I'm pretty sure she's still not talking to me when I explained how dropping into the Europa works.
Back to Rumania????

There mate, almost the same words can be made to fit any scenario eh.
I must admit Dave is beginning to sound a bit like me, the big differnece is it took me about 10 years of success to lose a bit of humility and develop a touch of arrogance. Dave is now a master at it after about 10 minutes in the sun and as yet no tangible success to really boast about, sounds a bit silly doesnt it. Also, I have never decried the CL, it is the best competition in the world and I am gutted to be out of it. Now that they are out of it after being outclassed for Dave to say he is not fussed about it beggars belief. It is going to be such a pleasurable experience bursting their little bubble.

No tumbleweed blowing round our place, got back today, long long flight if you know what I mean, in cold light of day Ive got to look at it from the angle of new places to go etc, that is the only comfort I can take. Should be interesting how UEFA going to arrange the games as both us and Citeh are seeded so will be playing at home on same night, looking at all the rules I think one of us will end up playing on a Tuesday with a 5.45 ko.
Anyway onwards we go.

Yes mate both of us seeded, must admit trips to anywhere further than Poland will be a pain but weve all done it before so it will certainly be interesting, bit like yourself hope we get Spain (Athletico would be nice, done Real but not there neighbours) Hannover also appeals, but Im sure we will end up with Metalist or someone like that.
On another point, what allocation we gonna get for FA cup, 4k? We got to apply Monday.

Funny when we were talkin in condado, you wanted different fixtures and I fancied Rome or Milan or benfica. I believe you may get up to 6 thousand depending on police reports. Think you got the short straw with Donetsk mate

Yes funny how its worked out at least I will get to see different sides/places from the normal CL lot, Agree mate far end of Ukraine not the best, got to apply from 12th Dec, not sure what Im doing yet, may do France or Sweden game then Semi and Final (I can dream anyway), back to Europa League though, its going to be a right pain with those extra games, I can see us playing the sort of side who played against Palace and see how far we get (Probably Qtr;s tops). Hope we do get 6k, as I was saying apply Monday ballot results week after (No confirmed allocation as yet)
