Chaddy & George ............. I'll score for you both.
Just heard that Giggs has been anointed at the swamp and has completed his first transfer, his mum for Rooney's wife, Rooney reported to be delighted with the deal

We're into post Busby / pre Fergie era now for the rags, a long baron period to follow, wonder if Stretford End Flags got a 12 month warranty on their flag?

Dave,
In that "barren" period, Ron Atkinson won the FA cup twice...... Please name me a City manager who did that in either a barren or fruitful period. Our Barren period of about 8 months is firmly behind us mate, we always bounce back from a bad season. This will be no exception.

I think your elastic band has been stretched too far this time ............ in fact it's snapped, so on that basis there will be no bounce back next season, and then it will go on and on and on, better get a new banner ordered for the ''lost years'' albeit am sure the double glaziers will continue to be very happy with their take.

The difference between Utd and Arsenal is that, one of the reasons Moyes has gone, he was turning us into a replica of them and we won't stand for it. We were passing the ball around for five minutes going nowhere, giving it away for the opposition to suddenly look deadly in attack. We were going nowhere to win nothing. Just like them. Not even qualifying for the CL. Just like them! Good luck tonight George. If your lot don't win the CL then, despite Utd's predicament, we'll all be in the same boat with NONE of our clubs winning anything of significance this season (although I guess we did win the Community Shield). In my darkest moments I almost want City to win the league cos there's nothing worse than a mouthy Scouser and plenty of them are already coming out of the woodwork. Jeez it won't just be Hillsborough we have to put up with them going on about all the time. The good news for Jay is that Moyes may be on his way to Spurs!!!

Dave,
It is like an echo with you ABUs every season we dont win something it is "the end of an era" "the start of some fictitious barren spell" "no way back" " the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse" etc etc...... The following year we sweep all before us. I think we can revisit this in a years time and one of us will be correct.

Kev,
The Hillsborough justice committee have done a great job of highlighting the absolute balls up and cover up made by the police and relevant authorities regarding what happened and you can have nothing but admiration for them and sympathy for the victims...... as long as they can accept that as well as the 96 being totally innocent of any wrong doing the enquiry may well find some of the others that were late, drunk and without tickets outside at kick off time may well have some culpability also.
Now that the committee has developed this expertise for pushing authority into exposing the truth, I wonder if similar vigour will be applied to investigate the sad deaths of many Juventus fans who had a wall pushed on top of them.

Dakey - this time is different, no SAF, no Gill, Glazers in charge (rather than the plc that bought Rooney, Ronaldo, Ferdinand etc), backbone of the team finished (last of the class of 92 about to retire), too many bit part players on nice money but just not good enough, Rooney and RVP on £300k a week (other world class players will want the same), no Champions League to entice, other teams have strengthened and bedded in players/managers this year ............ it's a whole different kettle of fish to some of the years where SAF finished 2nd or 3rd (and that was classed as failure) but wasn't that far behind, you'll win jack next season, might take 3 or 4 years to recover if you're lucky
You used to sign high quality players on a regular basis pre DGs, look at what's been signed since they took over, SAF worked wonders with what he had, but it couldn't last and he saw the writing on the wall
2014 to 2039 ''manure, the wilderness years''

Dave,
I can almost sense that you believe that nonsense. The facts are that like them or loathe them, the Glazers have backed the manager with money and the period from when they took over to this season is the most successful in our history. look at the record books and back up your criticism of them with salient facts not drivel......and I dont like them, but I can see through the mist of uninformed drivel.

Dakey, learn to read, where did i say the DGs haven't backed them, i said you used to sign quality players, big difference as apart from 1 season wonder RVP the rest ain't been good enough, i suggest you take a look at the last few years signing and compare back to the pre DG days ........... when you used to sign the best there were. The difference was SAF, and he's gone, and leaving big boots to fill and a looming shadow over any new manager.
I know you love your stats http://www.soccerbase.com/teams/team.sd?team_id=1724&teamTabs=transfers

Dave,
Fergies last big signing was RVP. We won the league by 11 points. Moyes came in and made 2 signings Fellaini and the jurys out on him yes, but bad player? the other signing was Chelseas double player of the year Mata. Now speaking of those last 3 signings whether they have worked out yet or not, no one can argue they are not top draw signings and not a greek carthorse defender with a pony tail among them!

Your point was we dont buy big players when the facts are the opposite. We are 7th you are not top and wont be, that means we are both nowhere. you might say that you have CL football, bloody hell that has been an absolute fiasco for you, you would be better off out of it alongside us and stop making yourselves look silly every year.

George,
Well done on a real gritty dogged performance, just what the doctor ordered. I am sure that if you had been offered a game at the bridge to win for a CL final place at the start of the season you would have snatched it up. The one slight downer is only madrid can score the dreaded away goal now and keeping a clean sheet in the home leg is a vital part of european football these days. Nevertheless well done and a great chance to go through.

George,
Terry and the helmeted one out for the season.... That is cruel and unlucky. That is like RVP scoring a hat trick against the Greeks to turn our tie around then picking up a silly knock late on to keep him out for the next tie and season. Those are the little bits of luck you need to win these things, very small margins make all the difference at this level. I hope you dont pay dearly for that bit of misfortune.
