Keep reading the Dakey drivel and taking it with the respect it deserves (none) However could not resist posting on this one - I think 39k on a Wednesday night with a 5pm kick off is pretty good - not sure how anyone who does not go to games can comment on anything let alone attendances? Pot and Kettle!!!
Anyway 39K is a lot more than was in old trafford on the 23rd October after 80 minutes of your home game!!
Keep talking the C**P Dakey we are all loving laughing at you!!

Tony,
Not many of you City fans work for a living so I would have thought a 5.00 kick off was perfect. Just enough time to attend your jobseekers appointments and then plenty of time after to don your night attire to go out on a nice nights burglary.
now then, lets try and help here, 7.45 kick offs in domestic cups as well as european ties, half empty. 3.00 kick offs saturday, half empty, early and late kick offs sundays, half empty and now because its a 5.00 kick off and half empty its because its an early kick off. What is the optimum time for you to kick off and get a full house? pray tell us as it would be nice to know!
I dont expect a full house at O/T tonight as the jobs done and moneys tight, but it will be well over 60,000 and as you know the midweek games are an accurate barometer of local support as most of the crowds for these games logistically have to be locals. We will compare tomorrow the depth of local support, 39,000 to beat eh?

Dakey,
Your version of half empty is again laughable, not only do you comment on attendances when you do not attend, you clearly also failed to attend school - even without segregation half of 48k is 24k
Dont direspect the jobseekers allowance - certainly helped me buy a place on Condado!!! and left enough for my season ticket!
Drivel drivel drivel drivel dakey
Enjoy

Its been ages since Dakey has managed to entice me in on (my achiles heel) the attendance issues. Don't let him get to tou. All games sold out, nuff said.
Jay, enjoyed your passionate comments earlier in the week.
Hopefully, looking forward to another nice trip to Portugal. Easy this football lark

Quite right but was a bit bored in the job seekers queue so thought I would humour him.
Looking forward to the weekend game and then England v Holland next week - Look out for my daughter walking out with the players at Wembley on Wednesday - At least with 5 City players in the squad there is a good chance she will get one of those!
Enjoy

Oh and Dave no doubt they'll be another outporing on Monday!!
Oh and one more thing this is a hell of a book if you guys fancy reading something around the pool one day.
THE FOOTBALL BOOK WITH A ROTTEN EDGE!They used to call it the people s game but not anymore; silent crowds, soulless all-seater stadiums, rip-off ticket pricing, corporate priorities, players diving, 24/7 fixtures, aggressive stewards, overbearing advertising, overpaid players, agents and of course - Sepp Blatter. All of these and more are the target of a relentless attack from Matthew Bazell, who asks why no-one s singing anymore. In a heartfelt personal account, Bazell examines the way in which football, both on and off the field has lost its soul to greed, but argues that, ultimately it s the supporters who have the power to reclaim the game. This new edition includes updates, pictures, new material and a special guest chapter by John Lydon. This message was last edited by Jay05 on 23/02/2012.

Dave,
On the ninian south platform and my boss has sent Woody on today to torment me. He is only on until Monday, but has brought 5 different City shirts with him, one for every night. He has just enjoyed himself watching Utds' reserves scrape through, a calculated gamble by the chosen one that almost backfired but we have 2 tough crucial away games in the league now that are far more important. nice to see 65,000 locals turn out at a silly kick off time (8.05pm) and the Ajax fans were brilliant. Woody is watching the telly upstairs in the Rec' room so he doesnt realise that I have took his City shirts and put them in with the overalls in the red hot wash, they will be coming out half the size so he wont be able to get them over his fat blue belly!
That will be a nice occasion for you and your daughter Tony, hope it goes well. make sure she shakes hands with everyone, including the Utd players.
Cheers, Dakey

Ha ha ha you'd better run when woody finds em!!! I believe 20,000 Ajax fans turned up? Listened to the last 5 minutes on radio. Mark Lawrenson went ape at only 2 mins of injury time. Also full strength strong side except for spud face was mentioned????

Dave,
Ferdinand, Evra, Carrick, Giggs, Scholes, Valencia, Rooney and Wellbeck will all or mostly all start the two crucial games coming up, so hardly full strength I think. Also, masssive bank of Porto fans behind one goal last night in your paltry 39,000 gate.

Dave,
Have a good laugh at players who have all won up to 12 premiership titles as well as Champions Leagues etc. Compare that to your clubs entire 140 year history with just 2, yes 2!! titles. now that is what I call side splitting laughter, with a capital 'L'

Chaddy,
We wont mind 'strolling through' the next round as well, in fact, if we 'stroll' all the way to the final, I will be ecstatic. With Citys' cantor today and expected cantor next week, our main focus is to get through Norwich and Spurs away without losing ground and then the dynamics change with, on paper at least, City facing a spell of difficult games compared to ours leading up to the Etihad. So dont want to discuss anything else until we get Norwich out of the way and that is not going to be easy whichever way you look at it.
have a nice night.

Dave,
In answer to your question " do any of those players still play"?..........Well I think Scholes and Giggs gave the answer for me. Has there ever been two finer players in terms of all sorts of different qualities, brilliant! 5 games now out of the way in the little mini league of 6 murderous games for us and 6 gimmees for you. 13 points out of 15 for us and 12 out of 15 for you. Another toughie next week at Spurs, keep em coming!

Nice to meet you the other week on Condado.
I watched the game yesterday as a total neutral but after the disgraceful and blatant cheating by Bale I soon put an Arsenal hat on and cheered each and every goal after that. I was watching with my 9 year old son who plays U9s footie and if I saw him do that I'd go mad with him, how am I supposed to get across to him it's not right when he sees top players doing it with no punishment when they are found out. The pundits on TV although agreeing it wasn't a pen didn't exactly give Bale a hard time for it.
I know all teams do it but that was so blatant yesterday that I think even the ref started to doubt his decision hence why he never sent Gibbs or the goalie off, I guess he didn't know who he thought had commited the foul, shocking really.
Anyway well done on the win and you never know you may just sneak 4th and keep RVP afterall.
Cheers
Simon

Hi Simon It was great meeting you too mate. Hopefully in the summer our kids will be able to play a bit of football together at CDA and hopefully I'm sure there be nothing but FairPlay even between gooners and Leeds fans eh!! ;-) On the dive itself it looked like a gibbs made a challenge but got not ball or man but I guess from Deans position it might of looked different. I was level with it and the lino gave nothing so we were all shocked at the decision. Bale is going down quicker than a cheap wh**e now days and if he weren't such a darling with the media he'd be shown up for what he's become. Anyways it's was all sorted in the end. What a whoopin!! Cheers Jay

Jay,
An amazing turnaround. Very dissapointing performance. I didn't actually see the second half (may have been a good thing) but even in the first half we were giving you guys too many chances. Even though we were all square at HT our midfield wasn't clicking for some reason. There were opportunties to break we normally would have taken much better.
Don't think the players would have had a fun time in the dressing room afterwards. I would imagine Harry was p*ssed!!
Gotta bounce back and knock over Utd next week. Would imagine we'll be 451 with Lennon and VDV back in the team.
The unpredictable results keep on coming!!

Jay,
Not supporting Bale as I can't stand diving players, and he has been doing it recently. Then again he often never got given the free's after being fouled when he stayed on his feet but didn't regather the ball. The refs have to start forgetting about whether the player falls over or not in deciding whether its a foul.
But I think it was Gibbs at the other end who started to fall over before he even got to the defender and then was claiming a penalty for all he was worth. Unfortunately the practice is rampant in the league.
I'm a rugby supporter first off and in the Super 15 tournament down under they are issuing cards retrospectively using video footage. Its for foul or dangerous play. But I think it would be a simple thing for football to do the same and stamp out diving in one season. Review the footage after the game and issue Bale with a yellow card. The same for any playacting or diving anywhere on the field. And maybe for another one of my personal hates...swearing at and abusing the match officials.
