Jay,
I have got loads of answers contradicting most of what you have said, but I understand that you are hurting somewhat at the plight of your beloved gunners so I will respectfully let it slide. One thing I must comment on though is the return of Steve Bould. I know Henrys' was somewhat of a small success, but do you think Bould will be able to hack it these days in the top league, I mean he is cracking on a bit, but he is definately an improvement on your current centre backs!

Jay,
I'm looking forward to Sunday's game. Think there will be a few goals and a good match. Be nice to get away from those tricky League One teams!!
Have to agree on your views on club finances. But I think City etc will get around the fair play rules with some dubious sponsorship deals. However I think they will favour the likes of Arsenal and Spurs. We are a few years behind you in the stadium build but I think thats the next step for us if we are to keep competing for the CL spots. Arsenal are only one good summer buying spree from challenging for the title again....and you have the money somewhere locked up safely.
City's spending still staggers me. Considering we are prospering with their 5th string striker!! Its completely mad.

Shane mate
Can only see one winner on Sunday unfortunately and it aint the home team.
On the stadium build for your mob all I'd say is be careful what you wish for. Moving ground is not all about bigger capacities and all that. The owners of clubs are nor interested in us as fans, all they see is 36,000 individual revenue streams becoming 60,000 revenue streams and the new breed of fan that you may be able to attract may not be the fan that you want or are used to, trust me on that one!!!
It's funny that virtually all teams that have built & paid for a new stadium in our premier league have struggled or not performed to the levels that they'd aspire to and most have got relegated.

Jay,
All except Utd, who have built a new stadium, stand by stand instead of moving and doing it like that piecemeal has allowed us to spread the cost, end up with a fantastic large stadium and still win things. The trick is not nessessarily to have a bigger stadium, it is to fill it regularly, something Utd and Arsenal have managed to do. Some of the teams who attract 30 or 40 thousand fans at the moment, who are all clamouring for bigger stadia have no history of regular bigger attendances and could well be in for a shock when like City, they struggle to fill it.

I meant in one hit obviously and UTD's way of doing it has certainly been the prudent way although it's a taste thing; I think OLD Trafford is an odd looking lop sided effort in my opinion. I was there the night UTD played the gunners and they opened up the new side. I think it was 1993 and Cantona got a belter against Seamen that proved to be the only goal. I think that raised the capacity then to about 55k.
Whilst we're thinking about UTD and after the injunction has been semi lifted here's a little thing about Sir RED Chops that a pal sent to me.

I was watching MOTD on Sunday morning, when, just as fergy started his post match interview, my son walked in. He's not much of a footy fan my lad (sigh)
but he watched the interview with me. "Suares is a disgrace to Liverpool football club, and should never play for them again, they should get rid" said Fergy (spit).
Isnt that Alex Ferguson dad, yes son, didn't you tell me four of his players refused to shake Patrick Vieras hand once, yes son, what happened to them dad, nothing son.
Didn't one of his players jump into the crowd once and kung fu kick a fan, yes son, did they sack him dad?, no son, they made him an ambassador for the club.
Didn't his captain miss a random drug test, yes son, they sacked him right, no son, didn't his star striker get caught shaggin a granny prostitute, yes son.
Didn't one of his players get caught dog locked with his brothers wife, yes son, what happened to him? he got a years extension to his contract son.
And this man thinks Suares should never play for Liverpool again , OMG dad what did he do?, he refused to shake hands with someone he despises son.
Football's a funny old game dad, yes son.
Food for thought!!

Hi Folks
Don't know if anyone has noticed, but the Champioship is looking terrific at the moment, with teams as far as 11th with a chance for promotion. Often gets overlooked on this thread, and I think as football fans, we should all debate how entertaining it is, and how we see the outcome.
If Blackpool beat West Ham tonight, this will make things even more interesting. B'ham and Reading also on great runs, whilst Southampton look to be hitting form again. Very entertaining and interesting!

Jay,
Nicely put my friend, although a bit biased. You forgot to mention that Keano shook Viera on numerous occasions.... by the throat!
No need to agree with him Shane, there may have been a few misdemeanors there but at least they all paid their income tax!
City, ( please give us your real name, I get nauseous when I say or type the 'C' word) I agree with you on lower league football, did anyone see Brentford v Carlisle the other night? what a brilliant game, it had skill, pace, passion and great goals and did you also notice that the referees at that level allow sliding tackles which we all want to see remain part of our game, so yes it is not all about top flight football, there is life further down the ladder.

Kev,
They were laughing at ours and Citys' demise in the group stages and then they last just one game longer as they may as well cancel the second legs now! So after all that it is only us and City left with European football to look forward to, funny old game isnt it mate. The only downside for us is that these two have to play the bitters and I can see the likes of Blackburn and Bolton giving them a sterner test, at least they will show a bit of north western grit from the hotbed of football.

Fellas,
Will somebody please pass me the sick bag! Did you see that little Argie toe rag groveling back to City because as I pointed out when it kicked off nobody else would be willing to pay the overinflated transfer fee or wages that City and Tevez were demanding. It will be interesting to see how the morally bankrupt bitters fans will welcome him back after he trashed both them and the area they live in. His own words were" thank god I will never have to return to the Manchester area, I dont like the area or people who live there!" mind you Balotelli said the same thing and they fawn all over him so who knows, they will probably welcome him back with open arms. I have to say though, if I was Balotelli, Aguero or Dzeko and Mancini picked him in front of me, then I would be out of the door like a shot, never to return!!
At least now they can have absolutely no excuses for not winning the thing as they have everyone available for the run in and thats just the way I would prefer it!

When Tevez said this " thank god I will never have to return to the Manchester area, I dont like the area or people who live there!"
He meant the red scum half not the glorious Blue half!!

Late breaking news on the Suarez /Evra saga.
Luis Suarez has been arrested for the murder of Whitney Houston. Key eye witness to the murder was Patrice Evra who claims to have seen the accused murder her at least 10 times in the racially motivated attack. Alex Ferguson has called for the death penalty, whilst Kenny Dogleash has claimed Whitney Houston never existed. Howard Webb did not see the incident, but will include it in his match report anyway

Chaddy,
The Etihad may be in Manchester, but Chadderton isnt, so dont involve yourself in Mancunian business, nip to Oldham town Hall and pay your council tax there, theres a good boy.
