We were gettin stick off Wolves on Saturday saying he was too good for both Everton and us. My own humble opinion, not bein English and biased towards him, is that I'd much prefer Dunne to stay (he's back to excellent form) or Distin to come back. Our best defender last year was Onuoha who is still ready to play. However I'd rather have Lescott than Terry. He can play in more positions.

Much as I love Mark Hughes for his efforts in a red shirt how can you take him seriously as a manager when he appears to be about to ofload Dunne to Aston Villa for 6million and replace him with an inferior defender in Lescott for 24million. Citys owners had better have very deep pockets with business like that!

Being an out of towner, do you have any idea what the significance or comedy aspect of the Tevez poster was about. Most of the press didn't pick up on it and Sir Taggart Ferguson allowed hiself to be sucked into some kind of nonsensical ranting. The poster simply stated welcome to Manchester because Utd don,t play in Manchester. II was supposed to be welcoming Carlos to a city he had not played in which other than the Salford lot, always ranckles most of the reds.

Dave,
Fully undestood the poster intention......but can you really imagine Real Madrid, Barca, Bayern or United doing such a daft thing - particulary with Tevez. Anyway it is good to city fans popping the heads above the parapet. It is good for football & Manchester - the Top 4 nonesense is becoming boring, so lets just see what happens.
I was suprised with GOD getting sucked into it too, to be honest

Apologies for inferring you might not have known. I thought is was a good bit of fun that wasn,t properly picked up in the media and made into somethin it wasn't about!!. Its not often we have somethin to crow about and it cheered us up. Now the money's spent we have to challenge. How much of a challenge we have to wait and see. Our match tonight would normally have been a banana skin, surely not now!!! Look forward to waving at you from the singin and dancin corner at Old Trafford!!

One last bit I forgot. You asked could we see Real Madrid, Barca, Bayern or Utd doin it. I know that Atletico, Espanyol, or 1860 Munich certainly would if they had just become the richest team in world football. It is still very new news which lots of people don't fully understand including my very good mate Dakey who is desperately annoyed by it.

Dave, Utd despite a massive paper debt are, like most other premiership clubs, competing on their own generated income unlike City and previously Chelsea who both are at best mid table clubs who have become the playthings of extremely wealthy men. Where is the pride and achievement in that? Any club in the world could eventually compete given those circumstances. But remember, Chelsea were going to dominate Europe 5 years ago and it is yet to happen. Until you start to actually win things, with your history I would tend to keep a lower profile if I were a City fan. [Heaven forbid]

Dave,
I dont know what happened to my post with all those jumbled letters, I think they must have edited my swear words. Your ramblings do not bother me in the least, I am like a missionary in that I keep trying to educate you into supporting a proper well run football club with moral standards, but I fear you are too far gone. This is just an extension of the debates we used to have at work all those years ago and you used to come off second best then as well. Call me a sentimental fool, but I still like you despite your faults.

Fellas[and Dave]
The premiership is only a couple of weeks in and it is almost make or break for my team Man Utd and our great rivals Liverpool already. If you look at it objectively Chelsea, City and Spurs, the early pacesetters all have relatively comfortable fixtures this weekend and you cannot see any of them dropping points. If we lose at home to the gunners and the scousers lose away at Bolton then It will be a long hard road back for both of us. Unthinkable! Looking on the bright side and it could only happen to Man City, one Of the richest men in the world decides to buy them as a plaything, the supporters get all excited and what happens? EUFA belatedly, but quite correctly decide that teams should compete using money generated by good business practice and not obscene donations from morally bankrupt rich moguls, which will mean that clubs like City and Chelsea who are existing on donations beyond their means will quite quickly slide back into oblivion. EUFA, who have had enough of the likes of City, Chelsea and Real Madrid, appear to Have finally found a backbone and are about to do something about it to the benefit of the majority of clubs who go about their business correctly. I, for one, salute them!
Cheers Dakey

Thought Dakey would have been on about my Scotland Team. Holiday in South Africa booked, nobody to support. Have to hope for Spain or Brazil in Jo'burg or Capetown.
Next 2 weeks should show whether Spurs n City are up for it.
