From the main entrance of the resort take left, over the flyover and take first right at the second roundabout and you will see Consum supermarket on your right. This should take about 15 minutes on foot (you will need to add further time to this depending on where you are on the resort - I am in 3b and this is 25 minutes to the main entrance!). You can always take a taxi back to your property as you would have grocery/water/beers to take back. Taxis I have used previously can be called on 968 57 41 05 or 629 68 860890 or 615 17 35 65.....Have fun.
Regards.
Arun.

ICELAND IS NOW OPEN.
We are on phase 3. go out through Roda Golg back gate and at the main road, turn right follow the road to Jan Javier; turn left you come to a small roundabout where you turn right to San Pedro Del Apinta; past all the shops and straight over the next roundabout, through a set of traffic lights, keep straight ahead until you see Maxi Dia and Iceland on your right. The journey should take about 10min, ( by car ) Its approx 3 miles.

We have been in Spain for 10 months, and I have to shop around. Some things I get from consume, some from Gamma, bits and bobs from diez. I find Iceland quite dear for most things, so only shop there when we are crying out for something English.

Alternatively there is a shop on site in the old club house which is run by an English couple who are very helpful and provide an excellent service - fresh bread, milk etc. They are as close as you can get to Roda and are not just for emergencies; they need and deserve our support. We should use them or we risk losing them.

I have found the mercadona online and they have an English version! It was a bit tricky getting the website to recognise our address - it uses 30710 for the postcode - but I phoned the helpline to check that it was going to get delivered to the right house, so now am up and running. The delivery charge is about €7
It is great having a small shop on hand for things that we can carry, but delivery is the way forward for the heavy stuff.
