I have been advised today that Corvera are openning a small supermarket, in a temporary building that has been placed, opposite the main offiices, in front of the tennis courts
They couldn´t confirm when it would open, just soon, and they were fitting it out today
The ground works for the clubhouse seem complete so they should be starting surface building works
Parking bays are now numbered and most of the pools are now cleaned and able to be used

Thank you for that information Roy. Whatever anyone says, it is quite clear that Calidonia are trying bridge the gap between purchasers completing and completion of facilities. So far, from information given by other purchasers, in addition to this temporary supermarket they are offering discounted horse riding, free golf at Roda, free use of tennis / basketball courts, payments of community charge suspended until January. Perhaps I'm easily pleased, but I for one appreciate what they are doing.

Yes Anita and 1234 all of your information is correct but it is a shame that they not very good at telling people excatly what they are doing
Most of the people that we have checked for have used the €3k for white foods, lights and shower cubicals
A minor thing but the light fitter could do with bringing a spirit level from what we have seen on some checks tiday but this is easily adjusted
The white goods and shower screens that they are supplying are good brands and quality and the fitting seems fine agian was checking the water seals today
Also have now checked some boilers, central heating syetms and AC and only one problem with a blocked vent on an AC installation

why not enjoy COVERA all i read are british people moaning about delays quality and what ever. It is a wonderful site being built by really helpful Spanish people Celia and Roman to name a few. Come out enjoy and then if you have a cause to complain please do so. You never know the POUND might have risen again. Who cares if the light is a bit wonky. ENJOY

its called a forum so anyone can post on here shudi and its meant to be about differing opinions..
just look at the post 1234 made on the previous thread about the euro being 3.0 to pound (court case thread)... whoever it is ,is clearly out there trying to make out that the building site is a wonderful place to be!!... let be honest here it wouldnt be a great surprise if it was one of the really lovely Calidona staff trying to put a positive slant on things...
Anita i am very sorry but i dont think Calidona are making all this effort for those of you that have completed, they have got your money so you arent the problem to them.August hlidays and all of a sudden things are being rushed through...that might give you a clue as to what they are up to.....rush rush rush...dont worry about quality just get it built as quickly as possible, strange eh how all of a sudden its all happening???
what next a temporary 5 star hotel ?... free horse rides around the building site and 18 holes of dust golf?....

In some ways I dread posting information on here because of the response but I believe that it is important to pass on what´s going on and I try to present a balanced view
I am sorry 1234 but i agree with some of the comments made by other people regarding your posting because there are manty issues with this site for buyers and the euro certainly isn´t the only one, yes people are very helpfull onsite but that is after all what they are employed to do for clients. I find all of the staff are willing to help clients which is always much easier when a site has few renters and residents
It is´t just the English that are complaining but this forum is mainly for English speakers, but I alos work for Spanish, Dutch and German buyers and they all have issues
The one thing that I don´t accept is people continuing to comment regrading quality finish etc when they actually have not yet been to the site and seen inside apartments or around the pools gardens.
Again for record I have now checked over 30 properties, and apart from 2 clients, people have been very happy with the quality, surroundings and completed
Yes without any facilities on site there is a problem as Corvera is a sleepy spanish town that closes for siesta with limited shopping for example the supermarket closes on Monday afternoons so when we arrived with a family who wanted to use the property they couldn´t get some basic supplies, my advice is therefore shop at a larger store en-route
There is a baker, butcher DIY shop and supermarket in town plus a garage that sells water etc but ost shops keep Spanish hours and the nearest larger town with Mercadona supermarket is Feunto Alamo around 11km from the resort
When they arrived at the property everything was connected as agreed, white goods and lights fitted, electricty gas and water available and a working boiler with AC but the snagging wasn´t all done and therefore the property was very dirty, good service knowing that the client was arriving that day would have been a proper clean
I ended up visiting the local DIY stre with the owners and buying the necessary cleaning materials but agian a positive about being in a small spanish town, the prices charged, 3 mops, bucket, scrapper, cloths, dusters, bucket, bowl, broom, dust pan, for walls and toilet cleaning fluids, bleach, €24 the lot
As we learn more about the way the resorts work we have a local company that will do a deep clean plus plan to re-visit the properties the day before people arrive as a builders clean, or even the clean done by some furniture companys whne they fit furniture isn´t a proper clean

Still can't understand the thinking behind the 'living on a building site' phrase.
Surely everybody that bought on phase1 at least knew that this was going to be the case for a couple of years even if the development build had started 2 years ago? This is why phase 1 is sold at rock-bottom prices, phase 2 at slightly higher and then Phase 3 (& 4) at the high end price,(surmising in the build schedule most of the amenities as well as the other propertiesare by then complete). The final stage of any development is a hotel which is then built at a time dependent on financial/business attributes. All developers work in this way, just check out Hacienda del Alamo or Hacienda Riquelme sites. All different builders, same scenario.
If anybody was mislead as to this build calender then it's more than likely the sales agent (such as the Irish led one no longer in existence) with whom their true grievence is.

did you not get the glossy sales brochure from Calidona ? i assume you did or you wouldnt have bought one.. you know the one that harped on about living the lifestyle, the 5 star hotel , the beautiful golf course, home of the PGA, horse riding, sipping your cold beer at the clubhouse...having a beautiful dinner after 18 holes...blah..blah blah...oh yes and i forget all of the above to be enjoyed in 2007...
oh yes and i dont remember paying rock bottom prices for this, infact i believe it was a little on the expensive side but hey we were paying for quality werent we.??
Calidona were the ones spouting all the bs and we got sucked in..remember this downturn didnt really kick in until last year...so dont give me all that old bollocks about it not being their fault....but with people like you around it sure makes their lives a lot easier....you carry on making excuses for them and spouting off how its not important to have a hotel (one of your other brilliant posts)... phase 1/2/3/4 its always going to be a building site because its not going to be finished... did you buy into that??

hi , interesting comments re the hotel completion dates etc , please check the thread on the roda forum and the link to the sunday times business section regarding deveres finances !! you would have to ask the question weather or not the hotel on either development will ever happen ?

Can´t really tell how big untill it is fitted out but looks smaller than the RODA shop
If you are on phases 1 or 2 I wouldn´t really describe it as a building site as gardens roads and pools are finished and there are a number of people over using them at the moment
I found the first lifts working in blocks yesterday but yes they are still working on some propertues in the blocks with resulting noise and some mess in te hallways, which are also now being cleaned and have had their lights fitted
Around some of the villas yes it is a different story with lots of work going on and the resultant dust and heavy plant wroking and you have to play dodge the builder

with all due respect i dont remember reading this in the marketing literature , a 5* resort with devere hotel the same statements as roda . do you actually believe that people would have signed up if the literature had said " we might at some stage if " the fact is calidona and its agents traded on the devere name and were happy to do so . the fact that a buyer appears to have lost a case against calidona would appear to be more about the local econamy and corrupt spanish system rarther than upholding consumers rights , as fairdues said in another posting "i couldent see a spanish judge ruling against a local developer in this economic climate " not exactly a sound legal system !!
i really do hope you guys at corvera get all that was in the literature unlike the sister resort of roda at which facalaties are sadly lacking , but at least they can rely on the local infastructure which as roy pointed outis a bit of an issue with corvera .
