The nearest hospital and the hospital for residents in Roda is Hospital Los Arcos at Santiago de la Ribera which is to be found at
Domicilio: Paseo de Colón, 54. 30720. Santiago de la Ribera (along the sea front at Santiago de la Ribera)
Teléfono: 968 57 00 50
The nearest health centre is in San Javier - beside the police station and Mercadona although there is a small doctor's surgery at Dolores de Pacheco which is straight through the traffic lights at Roda village and straight through the next lights on the right just past the Farmacia. I think that the emergency number if you need an ambulance is 118 but I am sure that someone else will confirm this for you. I have had to use the hospital and medical centre on several occasions as I live here and have found the health service to be fantastic so hopefully you won't need them but if you do you will have the same experience.

There is an excellent medical centre in Los Alcazares which I think is closer than the one in San Javier, its certainly easier to find being on the main road through the town, it is on the left hand side near the Farmacia, before the Ramblas where the Tuesday market is situated.
There is also a dentist here for those who may need one.
There is a doctors surgery situated near the Tobacconist in Los Narejos, near to the Farmacia where there is an excellent English speaking German guy working.
Best Regards
Dale

Just to clarify the medical centre in the centre of Los Alcazares is private and the one in San Javier is public and free. Residents in Roda have to go to San Javier as Roda is in the town council area for San Javier and the same applies to the hospital situation as Los Arcos is our local hospital.
There is alo an excellent dentist in Torre Pacheco who completed his Masters in Dentistry in Kings College in London and speaks excellent english. His Clinic is just beside the medical centre and is just opposite the Blue petrol station on the road to the town centre. His prices are very reasonable and he does all cosmetic work as well at a fraction of UK prices.

As I understand it if you have an EHIC card and you need emergency treatment then that should suffice. Always advise taking out travel insurance to make sure you are doubly covered. Can someone correct me or confirm on this. Our experience has been great emergency treatment at the health centre near to la Tercia and prescriptions on production of hte EHIC card.
Also Los Arcos is an excellent hospital but has now moved to its new location - new building and great emergency services - it is easily accessed by travelling on te AP-7 direction alicante and taking the RM301 (direction Santomera) , first roundabout on that road (huge bronze man skiing statue in the middle) turn left and it takes you the hospital.
We had neighbours at La Tercia who ended up there as an emergency and they were very impressed.
Hope this helps
Sandra

An EHIC card is imperative, travel insurance advisable.
112 is emergency number here but Los Arcos as Sandra says has excellent A&E.
Most times an ambulance will request seeing your EHIC before taking you in and in some extreme cases EHIC may NOT cover all follow up treatments and you may be presented with a bill, so travel insurance is sensible.
NEVER travel without EHIC

I echo Hugh_Man's sentiments. If you do not have an EHIC you will not be treated unless you produce an insurance document - and even then you might be presented with a bill.
The cheapest add-on insurance is via EHIC Plus which is an add-on to your standard EHOCcard

DO NOT TRAVEL without an EHIC card - thery are free via the gob website
