And to think the taxpayers fund that programme!!  So Ryan Air is cheap, but they have lots of extras to add on if you need them, food and drink onboard are expensive and some people hate them (and others love them).  Did anyone not know these facts?

I thought Panorama was supposed to be a hard hitting documentary programme about important issues, clearly the presenter didn't like Ryan Air, but that was pathetic.  The only decent part was when they tried to talk to O'Leary and he just railroaded them.  If you want a smile look at the correspondence between BBC and Ryan Air all posted on the RA website.

Havent had a chance to watch it yet (have it taped) but by the sounds of it the programme didnt tell us anything we didnt already know...in other words pointless. The food that they have onboard is as you said you either love it or hate it. We are the hate it household cos of the price of it so we bring our own when we can.

What do some people want - A rolex for the price of a turkish imitation tick tock !! We just flew Ryanair from our local Airport Teesside to Alicante one way for a tenner only taking hand baggage. Now this made it viable for us to have a quick long weekend away without having to even think about the cost. The plane was quite new, took off on time, landed 15 minutes early, cabin crew fine, no problems at all. Not bothered that there was no magazine rack in back of seat, not bothered that safety instructions on back of headrests - probably more chance of people reading them there anyway. Took on our own sandwiches (mainly because you can get nicer ones in Boots or WHS) and drinks as we do on Jet2 & Easy jet. Probably a £1 more for sarni's with Ryanair if you want to buy one. Just need to get a Visa Electron sorted and they will virtually end up paying me to fly !!

Know one thing, will be looking at their schedule as soon as it comes out for next summer.

Regards,

Without the likes of Ryanair, most of us wouldn't own property abroad. The boom in cheap air travel means that we can access our properties abroad at viable and sensible prices. Why should I pay for the pilots food and drink, cant he afford it ? Wake up BBC and stop teling us what we already know. Ryanair is a means to an end, and I think most CDA owners thank there lucky stars that they and others exist.

Sadly still nearly £400 for us to come over at Christmas- still waiting for them to drop those prices. But we nearly always fly with them and it is what it is. They are the only reason we were able to visit twice in the summer.

They have got a bit better at managing the priority boarding now as well: in the early days you practically had to fight through a scrum of people who waited around the departure desk from the moment they went into the departure hall- one time we were surrounded by people shouting 'dont let them through' when they called for those with priority boarding tickets! One other occasion they changed the departure gate and the whole queue charged at full pelt to the new departure gate knocking the elderly and small children over and climbing over the seating and the staff put themselves behind the locked doors whilst an anouncement was made asking people to remain calm! Other times boarding was a complete melee. I think many people have those sorts of memories which continues their poor impression of Ryanair. But at least they do two queues now for boarding and I think generally it is more orderly (or at least thats our experience over the last 12months)

We're not bothered about the food or drink, just want to get seated, arrive on time with as little hassle as possible.

What I would like to know is did the presenter of the programme pay for his own "overpriced" cup of coffee, or did the licence payer pick that up?? - surely he could have shown a picture of the price list just as easily to make his point!

Fully agree Billbo, I am out next week £40 return from Gatwick, hand luggage only, will take a snack for the flight and have a drink before I board (and I have a Visa Electron too! ).  No complaints from me, use Ryan Air regularly, as long as they keep delivering on what they promise (cheap on time flights), then I will keep using them.

yes yes and yes again. I'm not the only one that thought it was all tosh. As Mr O'leary said "there's a lot more people fly with Ryanair than watch Panorama". I have no problems whatsoever with them. Dirt cheap and get me where i want to be. Coming over in December cos i spotted the 10 quid seats. Thought that was it for the year but managed to get another 6 days over there. Cheers Michael.

Good businessman me thinks, half hours free advertising on the BBC, how much would that cost on prime time TV.

Same for us- waiting for the Christmas flights to come down- but last year was great just tax to pay for twixmas.  Cant deny it might be luxurious to travel BA with seats booked etc, but they're far to expensive for regular flying- Ryanair do what they say on the box- seats, flights, on time. Looking for Feb flights now!

Hi All,

Liverpool - Murcia return late Nov (offer no longer available).  Including all Taxes everything £15.98 RETURN

The rules are there, just follow the rules.  Tip  - Use the calander or task schuduler on your mobile phone to set a reminder.  Make sure you print out your boarding pass between 1 -14 days of flying.  Its silly things like that Mr O Leary depends on.  Like I said, just play the game and be aware.
