Is anyone aware of problems with the water supply to Block 7?
Having just gone through the problems with the electric supply, are we now to experience the same with the water supply? Have owners signed up for mains water yet?

I have not heard anything yet from solicitor concerning the water supply. I had assumed that the water switch over would be a lot less hassle, as It was my understanding that they do not need access to the apartments....is it a case of here we go again!

Believe it or not, the problem appears to be that one of the ground-floor owners in Block 7 regularly turns off the water at the stop-cock because the pump/generator? is too noisy; sod everybody else! Allegedly, they were told to do this by one of the on-site maintenance staff.
We are still trying to get this resolved. Can anyone on site bring any pressure to bear on this?

I was told on august by Mari Pax and her superboss that the pumps that causes noise will be isolated. Now the noise is really terrible, not only in 7, but also in mine, block 11.. They have just repainted the pum room, this week they are going to repair the pumps and, finally, the will isolated the one that causes noise.

I know that the apartments directly over the pump room are noisy when the pump is working. If you go into the the pump room, in the garage, you will hear how noisy it is. However that is not to say that apartment owners should turn it off without the rest of the block knowing, does seem a tad selfish. But at least you know the block doesn't have a water problem...just a nightmare neighbour!
Once it is isolated the problem...fingers crossed will go away.

Lets hope that Preinsur get the pump problem sorted soon. It seems it will be a problem for all those that purchase an apartment on the ground floor above the pump room. I have heard the noise the pump makes in block 6, luckily the apartment above is not yet sold, so not bothering anyone yet!
It is not fair, where do you stand legally?? So far the problem is in block 6, 7, and 11

Hi Carlos, just letting you know that the pumps finaly broke down again last wednesday / thursday after a couple of weeks of increasing noise. It was the loudest i have ever heard. You would not have had any sleep if you were here last week, ear plugs or not !....After the time we were without water for three days earlier this year we now keep 6, 8ltr water bottles for emergency strip wash and toilet flushing......should we have to do this?????? I don't think so....Since we moved in (march) we must have had no water 30 to 40 times. Anyway, yet another 'repair' and we have water again..see how long it lasts this time..The pump room looks like pump graveyard, there are five broken ones and two connected to the pipes that are working,,,for the moment..
As for this being connected to the mains, so there will be no more noise story, I am a little suspicious. Those pumps are there for a reason. Behind one of the walls in every pump room there is water storage tank about half the size of the lounge dining area of these apartments. Mains water is piped to here and stored. The pumps then pump water to each appartment. The reason for this is that the mains water cannot cope with the demand. Imagine that your block is fully occupied and everyone runs a bath at the same time, not very likely I know, but people tend to have a habbit of getting freshened up after a day around the pool and this does tend to happen at the same time give or take half an hour or so. Therefore systems have to be designed for maximum demand, so a Booster Pump system is used. A lot of stored water underground, which is then pumped at a higher pressure than the mains to each appartment so if maximum demand is requiered it can be met. It also means that the sprinkler system in the garages have water in the event of a fire and the mains water being off at the same time, again unlikely, but the chance is there. So guys, I reckon these pumps are here to stay, like it or not, all we need is for them to be a quieter and work, not too much to ask is it ?
Ps. These pumps should not be running 24/7, only when needed, ie, when a tap is opened, toilet flushed or washing machine swiched on. There should be a pressure sensor that 'tells' the pump to start when a drop in pressure is detected and stop when pressure is back up. It is not surprising that the are breaking down because when they are running all day and night they get extremely hot and this does them no favours at all. Sometimes I can have a hot shower using only the cold tap when I get home from work , occasionaly dangerously hot.

I have just read your message. I weill be there next week end An I will see. Any way, I was promised that every pump will be repaired and the pump room under the block - every block - isolated, but not the one that are apart from the blocks.

Hi
With regard to what Any / Jane are saying about the pumps being in a idle mode untill there is a demand, in block 5 this how they work there. I no this as I have been down there quite a few times to turn them back on when the generator has run out of fuel, when I have turned them on they have been running at a very reduced rate untill somebody has turned a tap on and then they would kick into full speed and stop as soon as the demand ceased. Its seems that the pumps in your block must be wired up wrong to the different sensors, I also agree about the storage tanks in the corner of the garage as we have had floods twice in our garage when they have been filling them with the hose pipe, and not keeping a watch on it both times it flooded our store room to a depth of 100mm and destroyed any thing that was on the ground , so untill they get the mains on if you have a store room and you see them putting the hose through one of the windows in the garage keep an eye on them as the just leave it ( or they did in our case twice).
Hope all who are having problems with the pumps have them sorted out ASAP.
Robbie / Barbara .
