Help!

I am coming out to Spain this Friday with 3 of the mums from my daughter's school. We are going home Monday. My keyholder has just emailed me to say that the fridge isn't working. I don't know if it's just a fuse or what it is. Is there anyone out there who knows anything about this sort of thing? Or can you let me know who I should contact?  I can't believe my luck here. I feel like selling the bloody apartment what with all this hassle we're getting with the electric and now this. Margo

We are out here-electricity is still on everywhere so it must be the fridge.Can´t your key holder sort it out? We will help if we can-let us know.Dave could look at the fuses if you let us know where to get the key.Sorry about your problems;I´m sure they will get sorted-it´s always worse when you´re in England!!

Remember, the fridges are a bit odd in that they have a couple of ON/OFF switches at the top, above the fridge compartment door.

 Thanks for that Pdrich. The fridge does actually switch on apparently, the light is on etc.,  but it's making a funny noise and the alarm is on. My keyholder has been really brilliant, and she is going in there tonight with someone to have a look at it. I'm, just wondering if we are still under guarantee for the white goods. We completed July last year, so my guess is "No".  I'll just have to wait and see what happens. We're not hiring a car so it might be that we have no fridge for the weekend. Not fun.......I'm fed up.

Margo, my understanding is any guarantee starts the minute you sign for the apartment, not from when it was installed. In Arenal Duquesa's case that would have been 10 years ago :=)

 Just spoke to my (fantastic) key-holder. Not great news, the guy who looked at it didn't know what was wrong.  She's going to go there with another person tomorrow to see if he can fix it, but reckons that it will probably take time to get a part. So much for my G&T on the balcony. More like a hot cup of tea is all we'll get. Brilliant. Oh well, must be a grown-up. At least the leccy is on.

Will, Marianne - you've got your priorities right. My husband said to me that I could always console myself with a good rioja.  If I can't get it fixed, is there anyone out there who would be willing to keep a pint of milk in their fridge for me?

Hello all! Just got back........all went well. Thanks Tracey, the fridge worked, but you were there for me in my darkest hour, you scored serious points. The weather was great, I found an excellent restaurant just 3 doors up from Fathoms (bet you all know about it already). I can't remember it's name, but it's the one with the boat full of fish. Wonderful starters. I would recommend it.  I met some new people, that was nice, and saw Sue and Dave, who are great company. Also, Ken, the nuns who were with me send you their blessings! All in all, I've come backing feeling like I always do. Lucky to have found this place and very happy. Only one pool to be filled now. Gardens looking fantastic.
