Any news on Collados restaurant on Old Year's Night?

I just got an email about the New Year's Even Dinner and Disco tonight and the menu and prices are posted below. We went last year (there were about 70 people of all nationalities) and it was a brilliant night which went on until 6.30am I am told. The Collados chefs in the restaurant are excellent and the menu reads very well so no reason to suppose that it won't be a brilliant night this year as well. The price includes beer, water, unlimited wine with the meal, Cava for the toast and tickets for three drinks with mixers (any drink). (To put the price in perspective the Hotel 525 New Year's Eve Menu last year was 150 euro per person and it is much the same in the higher end restaurants in the area.) 

The emphasis on Spain is on the gastronomy of the evening so the price reflects this but there is an alternative for those who don't want the food as there is as price for the party only. The disco was brilliant last year and well suited to the wide age span which I think went from about 2 years old to 80!! There has been a lot of interest this year with people asking what is happening so it might be a good idea to book early.

NEW YEAR EVE MENÚ2009

Starters:

Iberian ham

Duck micuit foie with oporto jelly

Tender hearts of letuce with lobstar, Vegetables and powdered black olives with crust of tuna.

Grilled sea scallop with king prawn & tupinambur.

Fish:

Roll of seabass fillet with red prawn served with broccoli puree and vegetables.

Mandarin sorbet.

Meat:

Segureño lamb shoulder stuffed with boletus mushroom biscuit and  powdered black truffle.

PreDessert:

Mango Gazpacho with chocolate icecream and cinnamon foam.

Dessert:

Volcáno of chocolate on nugat sabayón y vanila icecream..

Beverages:

Beer, water and soft drinks.

White wine.(D.O.Rueda)  Mocem Sauvignon blanc.

Red wine.(D.O.Jumilla) Las Gravas.

We went last year and had a wonderful night and the food was out of this world,left about 5am I think.,brillant Disco,brought us back.

Looking forward to it again and we have friends staying with usthis New Year who will also be going.

How should we book?

 For those of you who would like a great New Years Eve night at a lower cost than the one offered in the Roda Club House, with super food overseen by someone most of you know from when he managed the club house at Roda, then try Vistabella Golf. Thanks Dennis we have some friends going out to Roda with us are and we on the list for the New Year Celebrations in the Clubhouse so will be going there as it is a lot easier than organising taxis etc but we will definitely try out Guillermo's new place as we have tried El Juglar Mudo in Cartagena several times before and loved it.

Where exactly is Vistabella and how do you get to it? Would you have any idea of the cost of a taxi as I would imagine that if it is expensive any saving on the meal could be cancelled out by the cost of travelling to and from wherever it is, by taxi especially on New Year's Eve when taxis are at a premium.

I checked with the staff at the clubhouse and there are around 60 names down so far so it promises to be a good night and we are looking forward to it.

I'm afraid I don't know how much a taxi would be to Vistabella, I know Guillermo is offering free transfer for New Years Eve for us from Roda Golf if he can get enough people who want to go, his contact details are:

 Directions to Vistabella:

Take AP 7 to Alicante, take junction 768 towards San Miguel de Salinas. When you get to San Miguel, take CV 95 to Orihuela and after 5 or 6 kms, take right (a long straight) to Los Montesinos. 700 or 800 mtrs in this road and the urbanisation is at the left (another very looong road up the hill)

 When you are driving towards Orihuela, (CV 95) you can see the urbanisation at the far right, over a small hill (the houses are all white)
