Very possibly- except that Murcia has more than enough out of work immigrants as it is. If you have been into Murcia recently you'd have seen lots of beggars and lots of men, suited and booted, asking for work. This is reflected in all the local towns and especially on the coast where the service industries have taken a big hit as well as the building trade. One of the things the explosion of development did was to bring in lots of cheap labour who were able to get regular work but a massive percentage of those are now out of work and unable to return from whence they came because of lack of funds.
Building the rail link is a more positive action than building new homes as it has a purpose, brings infrastructure, work and investment into the region. Any theme park will bring in customers, work and investment so again something good could come out of it. I was more surprised that the Chinese are interested in investing in the region, as I had never envisaged a link between Spain and China and would have been more expectant of investment from the USA or Europe- but they are in the doldrums financially.
But, where ever the money comes from its got to be positive for Polaris resorts.
I was reading a thread about Roda Golf and the huge difficulties there- it does make you realise that we have been exptremely lucky with Polaris. Whatever way you look at it those of us who were able to go ahead with a completion have got something very tangible from PW- maybe at a slower rate than expected but we do have it. I can say this as someone who was intending to buy on another phase at CdA and transfered, and even with the grief that purchase has since caused- I can still see the positives. I know lots of people didnt want to transfer and were gutted that PW can apparently keep deposits and there have been bank gaurentee problems etc, but for those of us who managed to get through the process. We have a very usable resort and with the golf soon to open we have very rentable properies.
Hopefully these infrastructure and business developments and also Corvera airport will help to stabalise the region.
