Has anyone used this card yet to play golf.

Where did you use it an what was the discounted price you paid ?

I'm unsure how useful this card would be to occasional visitors. Even if you can get over to CdA half a dozen times and have a few meals and several rounds of golf do people still see it as cost effective? I dont think I'd make use of the accomodation offer- I suppose I might purchase at the pro shop but there are good cheaper golf shops not too far away. I will buy drinks at the bar tho' but I think it'd be a long time before I'd feel I'd benefitted from the 140 euro outlay. Am I missing something?

The last time we went to the Resturant the bill was €44, with the old card we got a 15% discount so say €38.  With the new card the couple with us got a 50% discount ( yes I know what it says on the cards details, but they still got 50%  ) so paid €20.

So for me 7 meals over the year and the cards paid for, plus the other discounts and I can see that I'll soon get my monies worth.

Course, if there's only one of you you'll just have to eat out more, but how hard can that be? .

Ive spoken to two residents on CDA who have the card and they recomend it, I worked out that if you only eat out and there are two of you, and say the bill comes to 60 Euros this will mean you pay 30 Euros.

So therefore you will be quids in after only five meals, thats why ive signed up for it.

Right, thanks- it is only me now so thats why I've probably looked at it differently . I'm unlikely to go for a meal on my own but I am hoping to have mates with me on some occasions when I can get over and then there's the golf fees, the bar and the shop if something is forgotten. I'll get some info from PW and take it from there. At first i thought it was a one off fee, which sounded a very good deal- as ever, if it sounds to good to be true it generally is!

We've actually saved around 50 euros with the card this week in the bars, supermarket and restaurant so for us it's definately worth it.

How is the esiast way to get the discount card?

This querie might be taken as read to most people but wondered if anyone has checked: Will we get the same vouchers i.e free nights stay etc at Intercontinental Hotel, every year or are these vouchers a one off when you sign up for the card in the 1st year?

We've already booked our free night at La torre as well as 1 night for 70euros only. We also managed to book a family room for 2 adults and 2 young kids even though the voucher mentions a 'double room,' so we're delighted.

I have had the card for almost 1 year now, yet still get regular phone calls trying to sell me the card. So I plan to let mine lapse, then sign up for another card to get the discount vouchers again.

Can anybody please tell me if you wil get 20% off the full price of a game or the price they give to PW residents. If its only off the full price its no good for the golf.

Rules say Discount of 20% in green fees at Polaris Courses (discount non applicable to other existing offers)

So 80€ - 20% = 64€ with Card

Residents discount rate = 55€

For golf better off using residents rate or offers such a stwilight when available.

Whilst on the discount card the 50% off food omly applies to Restaurants, Lunch in the bars i.e. Woodhouse does not count as Restaurant so you only get 10% discount - i have tested that one.

Hi all, Dave here, and I am trying to do some bartering.

Part of the deal on the new card is a series of transferable 'Gift Vouchers'. I am interested to know if there are any Non Golfers out there who have purchased the new card and have no need for thier 50% off golf voucher?.

I have purchased this card and I am willing to do a trade on my vouchers, or indeed, gratefully relieve anyone of the golf voucher, if anyone is interested.

I am next over on 19th Jan and my card and vouchers are being posted to my address on Condado so if anyone is interested please let me know and see if we can come up with some deal.

I like your idea about getting the 50% golf vouchers, but I wonder would P.W allow it. Seeing as everything will be entered in the computer, if your name came up more than once for the golf vouchers, would they allow it. Sorry about that but knowing P.W they might have some rule about that. Anyway I might see you on the course in January.

Polaris don't always know who they have sold a property to, never mind who has played on their golf courses !!!

Have just checked my vouchersand the statement that came with them states "Courtesy vouchers" (All these are transferable)

However

on the vouchers it say "No Es Transferible" "No es acumulable"

So Letter says "yes"  voucher says "no"

Judging by my experiences with PW Bars and Restraunts so far you would be lucky to get away with it? having said that when you pay to play golf they never ask for proof of residency?

Vouchers do not bear a name but do have the club card numberon them so i would think they match the two?

PW like giving vouchers but are not so keen to get them back?

But hay anything is worth a go?

I was one of the early people to complete (Pioneer in Aug 2007). Back then you were given a book of vouchers for various things, one of them being golf '2 fore1'. I swapped some unwanted vouchers then, and played golf using the vouchers without any problem.

If my letter says 'tranferable' (which it does, i've just read it again) then transferable they are!. I got the letter before the vouchers and the card was bougt on the strength of the letter so, if confronted, I will argue like hell.

I have already swapped the massage.

Anyone who is sitting on vouchers and are not expecting to use them have got nothing to lose by swapping. PW want you to scrap these vouchers so they do not have to give away a free or discounted session.

These cards were sold on the promise of transferable vouchers so thats what they are TRANSFERABLE.
