There is an english film shown every two weeks with two showings on Saturday and two on Sundays in Cinema Pilar in Pilar de la Horadada which is around ten minutes away by car. The cinema is run be volunteers and the films are usually very up to the minute. Julie and Julia was on last weekend and 2012 is on next weekend. Check out www.cinemapilar.com Tickets are 5 euro and it is certainly worth supporting.
From time to time there are english films in the Las Velas Commercial Centre, usually in Cinema Scrren 6 and they will like the ones in Cinema Pilar be in Original Version ie English with sub titles in Spanish.
The Cinema in Pilar de La Horadada is just off the Main Street and there is a car park at the end of the street. You have to drive up the Main Street for approximately 600 square metres and you will see the Farmacia with a large green cross sign which is illuminated, the cinema is on that street on the right but it is a one way street which is accessed by turning right on the next street at Banesto Bank and following the street to the end, turn right and right again and you will be at the carpark. Follow the street and Cinema Pilar is on the left hand side approximately two buildings from the end towards the Main Street. Sounds complicated but it is not and there are a great crowd of regulars from all over the area who support the cinema.
Hope to see you there.
