On a number of properties around the site we have noticed that Swallows have built nests. These are normally built under the eaves, sometimes in space between the ceiling and walls on the patios areas and this is normal when properties are not occupied
These are protected birds and legally you cannot remove the nests, if they are being used but once, they are empty are easily removed by a pressure washer but it is important to sterilise the area as the nests often have parasites and ticks in the clay building material
Swallows arrive in April and normally migrate in September so some of you may have some unexpected summer guests
The trees and shrubs around the site are being sprayed for caterpillars which we noticed around the Magnolia villas and there are also lots of wasps and bees in the garden borders at the moment
Because the wooden pergolas are natural material they often drip natural brown sap which has a eucalyptus smell and attracts the wasps and bees so watch out for this an ideally clean it off patios or garden furniture
As far as mozis are concerned it seems OK at the moment but I will monitor things
