Not sure what happened to the thread- I haven't criticised La Isla at all.  I rather like it and I know it was originally advertised as exclusive with its own gatehouse, that was one of the selling features.  Their only problem now is what will be built on the land originally planned for the further two golf courses- but until anything materialises they have great views but that would be my biggest concern about owning a La Isla property. I do agree they will find it hard to keep a club house running in profit as its clear The Clover struggles in the off season and will do even more if a golf club house ever materialises. Manzano's closed because it wasnt profitable to have two bars on the resort.

All the Jardines were originally meant to have individual private access too but that got changed once they decided not to build the Foro and Agora and they moved the football pitches, sports zone and created Al Kasar. Once they did that they made the Jardines and Naranjos open to the public.. Originally the Oasis and whatever was on the outer ring road had public access and anything within theJardines and Naranjos should have been private.

Condado was advertised as many separate resorts within one resort each with their own features. La Isla residents/owners paid more for their properties for the privilige of being exclusive. they were even supposed to have a small ferry over to Oasis!

All that aside - if PW owe money for community charges surely thats owed to the main pot for Condado? Didnt the rest of the resort have to fund the usual maintenance and services until the community charges began to be paid by La Isla? If that has already been resolved and La Isla really get the money from PW I'd be saying well done- many small companies have struggled for many years to get a euro out of PW.

If La Isla has found a way to get further building work done then I'd say thats great but I still am curious as to how they managed to get around the problem that La Isla is owned by the Banks and as the rest of the resort is seeing with regard to just reopening the sports zone the Banks dont move fast.

I'm not an advocate of the heated pools unless they are all done I see it as a real problem for the chosen jardines, I hope it would be voted on, but on the plus side anything new will add to the resort as a whole and would bring in further buyers and renters.

Unless you have blinkers on CdA has a long way to go to catch up with the other more established PW resorts. But, that doesnt mean its awful, bad or a poor relation just that it's in its infancy.

Well well - just when we thought Polaris was dead and gone..!!

Polaris World have now started construction on the Island apartments at Terrazas de la Torre Golf Resort. Completion is expected by the end of 2011.

So what do you all think of that then..??

WillyW said " the next comment we will get, is they should have painted La isla white like the rest of cda. its not inkeeping. yawn yawn. La isla is a nice place."

What you means it's staying that skanky colour? I though Polaris had just left it unfinished as they ran out of money for white paint. Now very disappointed we have a blot on the landscape.

Seriously now, heated pools sound good. How is this being dones? , Solar Thermal sounds good but where would they go on the island as it seems quite tight for space.

Mark- PW still own Terrazas and they only finished the Boulevard at Mar Menor earlier this year. So they still have a programme of building just not for CdA.

Seriously, I'd like to know how the delayed community charge money can be used for a building project on La Isla when it is for lighting and other services. If it permissable to use the funds this way then maybe thats something the rest of CdA should be looking for the pool heating etc. However I have misgivings about heating only one or two pools as this would give those Jardin's a better standard than others and more chance of attracting renter- therefore I'd forsee problems between owners.

Quiet Man,

Is that not why we all pay our community fees to individual communities that we belong to. La Isla is seperate from the main CDA set up and completely independant  so if our community president can fight and influence Polaris to get this done then this is great news. Apart from that it is in all contracts of people who bought on La Isla that there will be a 3rd pool so they are contractually obliged to deliver on this. PW and even the new owners of the empty apartments will have to pay community fees so good news the presidents are fighting to get the possible result for us.

Can anyone remember the name of the bar at La Torre next to the water (is it Bamboo..??) - wouldn't it be great if CDA had something like this.

Before she did  x-factor she would  sometimes sing  in front of a dozen people on la torre, how times have changed.

i wonder why PW don't get her performing still at the resorts as the home town girl when she is back home in murcia. I am sure she could put on a few charity events. She should advertise more via her website. I see she is sponsored by www.theresorts.com

She is a personal friend of  the guys that own theresorts.com ( she has been for years)  they would with others follow Ruth from the mmgr  upto la torre  before she did x-factor. .She did a charity event at la torre it was a sell out.

I was in  shock at the progress being undertaken at Terrazas resort. Visited a few days ago, the rough area and general tidyness around the golf course despite it appearing un-open was of a higher standard than CDA although I was led to believe this resort started after CDA??? ( not certain?) Building work was full on including a golf club house I was told by one of the residents and town centre. From what previous threads suggest perhaps owing to PW still having a financial interest in this resort.

I wonder if the community fees for CDA could be used to influence and  further invest in improving some of the desert looking areas around CDA and perhaps plant or grass to improve the asthetic value. Surely this would be in every owners interest so that we can also compete with the other resorts mentioned, I appreciate the community would be unable to deal with the entrire project but any change in the right direction would be a positive action.

Polaris only gave up the golf course on this resort, they are still building and own lots of property, so they will keep the resort  looking good  in hope of selling property.
