SMV, some more positivity for both resorts.
Prices may be down but hey,
- exchange rates are low but interest rates are incredible low and don't look like changing.
Hence,
- Your mortgage/fees are much less £££s than maybe we budgeted for.
- Maybe this means we can hang on longer till prices recover and take loads of cheap hols.
- Or maybe be get lucky and sell, the deposit you get back after taking the price drop into account will convert back still into a reasonable amount of ££££'s.
Those people claiming they are getting cheap properties at x amount of euros. Well those euro's cost were costing 20-30% more recently.
Obviously a degree of head in sand but at least no moping here

michaelwr You say
(Those people claiming they are getting cheap properties at x amount of euros. Well those euro's cost were costing 20-30% more recently) Well people can get cheap property because not all buyers are buying in £££ s. People in euro land are able to buying cheapish.

Personally price going down has no effect on me as I never intended it to be a short term buy, although I do understand that it may have had a big effect on others. And being in eurozone no exchange effect.
But as you say you can find positives in a lot of places.
I think CDA is a great place and for me even if its not developed anymore, other than the golf clubhouse, I will continue to thoroughly enjoy myself each time I get over.

I am so pleased I started this thread and thanks so much for the useful insight into life on Condado and wider.
Well its looking like the 3rd pool and bar will be happening on La Isla so at least this is positive news.

There is a Bar opening on La Isla?
Who told you this? if it was Polaris World, I wouldnt hold out too much hope. They tell lies!
It seems crazy that they own all of Al Katraz, with an abundance of empty units, yet they will open a bar on La Isla, which is the only part of Condado closed to none residents?

Not trying to be the least bit negative because if PW are about to start some building it may mean other things can progress on CdA- but, what part of La Isla do PW own in order for them to build? I genuinely believe, having read the doct from the AGM, that PW no longer own anything on Condado other than the Al Kasar and 2 Jardin's in Naranjos. Its hard to believe they could consider building on La sla but can't establish a company that could open and run the sports zone which would benefit the whole community. When we lost out on the golfsuites they told us it'd be two years before they could build again and a lot has happened since then but thats still what they tell people who make property enquiries- and they dont own the land the Banks do. Has an outside company been approached and accepted by the Banks?
If not an outside comapany I'd be very interested in why PW would build anything on La Isla which is the least populated area on the resort.

Hi all,
When Si and I were over at Easter we managed to get in by car, they were testing the barrier system at the time so they let us through, We talked at the sales office about buying on The Isla but I then decided that I wanted to overlook the Signature course rather than any of the other two courses, all I can say is thank god . In the middle there is car parking and some swings and slides for the kids, they have two pools which are not sufficient for the number of properties, as the pools are not that big. The ground floor apartments have massive gardens and PW have placed a sleeper as a step to gain access to their patios(very unfinished I thought) and looked very unstable. If I remember correctly we only saw about 4/5 properties with furniture in them but that was a while back.
Dont know why people cant get in to have a look, didn't see what was so exclusive about it that they don't alllow Joe Public in.

What's the problem with La Isla then other than the fact you can't get on it? I appreciate we all have different views and opinions but how can you possibly not like La Isla. Once the social club and 3rd pool are complete then I will personally be very happy with my purchase. I would like to think that the land on the opposite site of La Isla will be straightened up some time soon even if only up to the barrier so it will look nice and tidy.

Wow, the first half of this thread everyone was bashing La Torre (well except me and Willywonka) now we are bashing our own resort its like civil war!
Unlike Alison, I think La Isla looks very nice, but Mark, I wouldnt hold your breath for that social club or third pool.Like I said Earlier Polaris are skint, they also no longer own la Isla. If they were to open a new bar it would be in Al Katraz, which they own and is 80% empty!
A social club on La Isla would never survive, especially as La Isla is closed to the public!

The 3rd pool and social club is being pursued through the La Isla community at an anticipated cost of between 300-400 Thousand Euros. Compensation is being sought for the outstanding community fees that PW owe for the unsold properties on La Isla that will help to fund these developments.
Can't wait until its finished so I can sit and wave at you all from this lovely little island away from it all.

Oh by the way, the other thing the La Isla community is making progress with is heated pools. Can't wait to have a swim in the winter months whilst you are all wrapped up.
