Golf Club House!

The other forum is reporting that a temporary clubhouse has been agreed and building will start in 1-2 months.

Barry mentioned on the Golf Society site that he had heard the clubhouse had been agreed on and could be up before the end of the year.

Of course we had been told this before....

Can only wait and hope it will happen this time.

Club House construction at Condado De Alhama

It has been confirmed today by the board of directors at MRI that the plans to build a temporary club house at Condado De Alhama have been approved. Construction of the club house will commence in 1-2 months, it will be between Penthouses 7 and 8. There was a dispute with Polaris World over ownership of land but a solution has been found and the clubhouse will be built between the penthouses set back a little from the course.

This is great news for Condado De Alhama, with such a fantastic Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course a club house is very much needed. MRI continue to show their support to moving Condado De Alhama in a positive direction

Don't know the block numbers of the penthouses....is this the area between the "golf car park" and the 1st tee??

Hopefully it will include what was promised in the way of facilities.

Played today, no sign or mention of the proposed temporary clubhouse, this is Spain when they say November think next May.......!

Rumour has it there were workmen up at the club house site this afternoon measuring up.  I'll take a look in the morning for signs of activity.

Here's hoping eh!!

 Went up there this morning and can't see much difference or any signs of marking out.   The only thing that different was a small  "no parking" area had been marked out with spray paint on the gap between the parking area and the path to the first tee.  Guess this is due to the comp that's going on.

But still hopeful, will let you know if/when are construction starts.

I see it was a month ago when condadodealhamaservices reported the banks were going to build the temp clubhouse.  They said then it would start in 1-2 months.

I would have imagined that even if it was a "ready built" one shipped in on the back of a truck there would be a bit of activity going on surveying the site etc etc.

Any news on delays etc or even a plan of the proposed clubhouse.

Just seen 2 men and a girl with theodolite and post measuring up on mound where clubhouse should be.

Asked him if it was for clubhouse and he said 'casa' which I assume is same. Asked him how long and he said 1 month.

Hope I did not misunderstand him or that it was another spanish manana

At last some positive news - can't be bad anyway.

I see that Requiem and La Torre were chosen as 2 of 4 venues to host the 2nd round of the European Tour Qualifying School - one day maybe Condado.  Does anyone recall the thread a couple of years ago linking CdA with the Ryder Cup........................?

It was for the clubhouse and it will be open for sure by Feb but hopefully before. For your information the tournament that was played at alhama 2 weeks ago was a PQ2 tournament.

Alhama has the layout of a golf course perfect for a huge tournament such as even the ryder cup but no it will never happen in my opinion due to the appearance of the outsides. Around the course is just bare land and unlikely to ever be used. Yes paramount is supposed to be coming but lets see because its very possible Spain could be a bankrupt country before long and going back to old currency. Lets hope not but things dont look good in any way at all!

If a temp club house goes up, No Pro event will come to CDA.

We rented our place out for the Hi5 event back in November.  I have been told that Hi5 are not going to use CDA again due to lack of facilities.  which is a shame as it was a small money earner

so what is going on with teh club house at CDA, is it still going to be a wood shack?  have a feeling that if this happens it will never get replaced.

Hi Golfers I belive it when i see it (THE NEW CLUB HOUSE).I often wonder how does Jack Nicklaus feel about the end product.We have a fablous golf course BUT NO FACILLITYS.Societys love the course but cannot belive they cannot get a drink or some food.when they come in. I personally saw several golfers buying some food in the shop and sitting out side The Clover Bar and eating.It makes me crindge.Well done to our Golf Society they are keeping the place going and not appreciated for all the work they do for Ola Golf.Sorry for being so long winded.
