Anyone who thinks its a definite that CDA is the location for a new theme park would definitely be jumping the gun.
But there does seem to be a consensus that CDA is one of likely places, if not the frontrunner.
In saying that this project is huge and has a long way to go before it gets to the stage where you could be certain it will be finished.
If CDA is chosen I'm going to enjoy the next few years of peace and quiet before the place turns into a madhouse.

Even last Friday when La Verdad said they had been told the location was Alhama they were saying nothing was finalised and agreements still had to be reached on the purchase of the land and the investment had to be raised. The investment needed seems to be several billions- when you think that the hotel on La Torre cost 90 million euro's to build its clear a massive amount of invesment is going to be needed for this project.
Think they have just pulled it all back under wraps until things are truly finalised.

Hi All,
Everything at the moment is all still speculation, and I certainly wont be making any plans on the back of all the rumours that are circulating. When I see the diggers and foundations going in then and only then will I believe something will happen. I spoke to a British lady who has lived in Spain for over 20 years and shes not even sure whether the airport will be completed, she says you just never know with the spanish one minute its on the next its off.
Like in God , I will believe when I see with my own eyes.
An esceptionally patient

Ali, you should already believe, you have met me after all
And as with anything in Spain, 90% is political bluster by politicians & salesmen, so until it's built and been operating successfully for a couple of years then don't believe it .......... (the surgery, the shop, the gym etc etc)

Hi Dave,
Forgot your middle name had 3 letters in it, but didn't believe what I saw and still can't, not a woman of faith. Just an exceptionally (spelt it right this time) patient one.
Think some people are getting very carried away and they need to rain themselves in, its all speculation and rumour and If it doesn't go ahead there will be an awful lot of disappointed people so I wouldn't be raising my hopes at this early stage, there are a big lot of WHAT IF'S, BUT & MAYBE'S. As I keep saying good things come to those who wait.

Perhaps we haven't jumped the gun! I took two photographs of properties advertised as 'Paramont Parks' in an estate agent's window in Puerto Mazarron. I'll attempt to put them into our forum's photo section now.

Thats estate agents for you!
Trying to sell them as Paramount Park properties, when there has been no official announcement of where the park will be and the park still has no funding.
I think in the current climate trying to get funding for a park in such an isolated area, with so few tourists will be difficult. Especially when Terra Mitica just outside Benidorm (Europes biggest resort) cant make a profit and has been bankrupt.
Still when did an estate agent let the truth get in the way of a potential property sale?

H Darren
Hi Alison & Simon
I recieved an email on Friday from an estate agent stating that they were based in Murcia advising me that they were agents for
"Some of the best properties in the region & offering the best rental properties on the soon to be extended area of Condado De Alhama."
"These incredibly priced properties are built on the coming soon Paramount Studios theme park".The photos were of the apartments in the Jardins & La isla. I emailed them saying that we were already owners of one of the apartments on Condado & that as far as I was aware no deffinate area has been chosen yet so how can they sell properties in an area that may not be the chosen site for Paramount.
More importantly. How did you obtain my email address.
Have not had a response. Not that I expected one. I would be interested in hearing from anyone else who recieves similar emails
Jan

The fact is that the park ocation still hasn't been officially announced, the La Verdad article where it was claimed that CdA was chosen only got that information from 'a source'. How reliable that source is, is anyone's guess. Nothing has been announced officially and until it is I'm keeping my champagne on ice.
Even when the site is officially annouced, and assuming it is CdA, they then have to find investors to fund it which could take up to year. Again, La Verdad say potential investors are already queing up, but once again they base that on an unnamed 'source'. With the current economic climate however, I wouldn't take it as read that this finance will be forthcoming.
Given all that, I'd be amazed if Paramount have already authorised this Estate Agent to use their 'Paramount Park' branding and logo for properties on CdA. Like the other 'Paramount property' websites that have sprung up I think this is just another example of desparation. I don't necessarly blame them for that as they've taken a hammering over the last few years, but I hope no-one is taken in by it. Of course if it does materialise buying now would undoubtedly be a great investment, but I rather suspect they're telling potential buyers it's a done deal and not only a possibility.
I hope this doesn't come accross as pessimism because I'm still very hopeful this will come off and in 5 years time we have a fabulous theme park employing thousands and brining in millions of tourists right on our doorstep, but I think that's still very far off from being a certainty.

Hi Stevie from Glasgow,
I know my photos weren't good through the shop window (it was closed) but it certainly appears to be the penthouse apartments at Condado de Alhama. The small print you maybe can't see under the 'Paramount Parks' logo says 'A Viacom Company'. A web-search has revealed that Viacom is a US based media conglomerate of which Paramount Pictures is a subsidiary.

Patsy, your one of the luckier members of this forum... i.e you have only just purchased your property. That probably means you paid half as much as most of the other posters on this here
I was one of the first people to reserve and complete on Condado and never recieved what I was promissed in terms of facilities, you were lucky enough to see what you were buying.
Form many, Paramount is the only chance we have of getting any facilities on Condado and the only way we have of getting our property values up to near what we paid.
I cant see Paramount happening, i would be amazed if the funding is secured, however I really hope it happens then I can sell my property, recoup some of my losses and move on from one of my biggest ever mistakes. I know I am not the only one who feels this way.

Patsy one word!
Irony!
Surly you didnt think I believed Condado was the best Golfing complex in Europe (Especially when I am a founder member of the half empty crew)? Even most of the Condado lovers on this forum wouldnt be so bold as to believe that.

At the end of the day, we bought into a dream. It hasn't worked out YET! It's not the end of the world. We'll get over it! My husband is a glass half-full guy. Yes he's not exactly over the moon that our appartment isn't worth anywhere near what we paid for it, but that's life! I'm happy for you Patsy that you got a bargain, and hopefully things will pick up eventually. Everyone is in the same boat and we just have to get on with it. More positive feedback please!

Hi Lynn & Patsy,
Totally agree as they say c'est la vie ( such is life), or they'res "no point crying over spilt milk". What happened was just bad luck at least we have something to show for our money.
Hi Patsy,
where did you buy? Hope everything works out for you and don't bother agruing with VM(Victor meldrew) you wont change his mind. Darren is an eternal pessimist but i suppose someone has to be. Aren't you Darren? Good luck with the furnishing and everything else you have to do now. Its crazy but fun.

Good luck to you Patsy, thats a pretty reasonible price and if you are happy with the resort then you have a bargain.
Yes I am the eternal pesimist on this forum, for some strange reason I cant seem to see the positive in losing 70 grand? I must be a bit strange I guess.
You positive people should come to the casino with me one night... Your guaranteed to lose but you will all come away farting rainbows and wistling Dixie!
