THE LATEST TOPIC APPEAR,S TO BE ABOUT PULLING OUT AND BANK GUARANTEE,S ,THE LAST RESORT I WOULD THINK , WITH PROPERTY PRICES HAVING RISEN IN THE AREA SOME 20% +TO GIVE UP NOW SEEMS REALLY  NEGATIVE.

THE FINAL O.K IS ONLY A MOMENT AWAY,I THINK WE WILL NOT HAVE THE ANSWER  UNTILL THE ELECTIONS IN MAY HAVE CONCLUDED. TO GIVE UP BEFORE THEN SEEMS SILLY UNLESS YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES WIL NOT ALLOW YOU TO WAIT

HUMA WILL STAND TO GAIN SIGNIFICANTLY ON THE PROPERTIES IT GET,S BACK FOR RE-SALE AND OF COURSE THE NEW ONE,S IT HAS YET TO SELL!! BETTER HOLD ON AND BENIFIT AS AN INVESTOR I THINK !

That's the problem.    'It's only a moment away'.   Lat May I was over ther on site and I was told that everything would be going ahead by September at the latest.   That was last September.   To date despite all the promises, we have nothing to show for it.   I am paying dearly for a 60,000 Euro loan for the last two years on the strength of a promise.    At this stage, what do we have to show for it?  A magazine with new plans and a letter from Parador.   The letter from Parador is sympathises with all out plight but can give no date.   They are going on whats being told to them.   The fact is nothing...Everything appears to be agreed in principle.....but nothing as regards a defenite date.

I have stuck with this as far as I can but I am getting very sick with worry.   This could go on for years with no end.    Somebody somewhere is getting very happy with the interest on the money handed over.   We are loosing out.   It there someone, somewhere, who can stand up and say  "Yes I have the news" instead of the re-hash of what we are hearing on a regular basis?.   I need an answer and soon.

Les

Hi Les, we decided to visit the site last May too.  We were on holiday in Mojacar and thought we'd drive up there and have a look around.    There were a couple of guys mowing the grass and that was about it.  We called in to MRI (who we are buying through) who had no news except that work was going to start again In September.  Our place should have been ready this month and we expected some "manana, manana" but this is ridiculous.  It's hard to know how long to wait before asking for our money back (which doesnt seem to be easy either).   Something has got to happen soon, surely and May isn't really that far away.  If we do get any info in the meantime, we will post it here straight away and we're sure other ACC buyers will do the same!   Just keep your fingers crossed!!!

Having no knowledge of Spanish regional government I'm wondering what bearing the May election has on this?

I'd have thought a change of administration may slow things uo further? Does anyone have any background info. regarding this?

We visited our solicitor in Spain last week. He claims that we haven't a case because the delays are not Huma's fault, that the Town Hall initially agreed the plans. He too has told us work is imminent and that an announcement is due shortly. He also mentioned the elections and said that the delays are part of a vote winning policy. As he was recommended by Parador and he 'just happened to know' the right contacts at Huma, sounds like they've all got their snouts in the same trough (to quote Jim Hacker)

Having seen Mazarron CC last week we weren't impressed. Not exactly a great deal there, facility wise. I can see it being a very long time before everything promised at Almanzora materialises.

Morning everyone.  Just returned from a visit to friends in Spain and went to ACC on Monday & Tuesday of this week....   The purpose of our visit was to find out what on earth was going on (we hadn't been for 12 months) and we were very disappointed.  There was no-one on site, either from Huma or anyone else to speak to other than the security guard and his dog (a lovely Dalmatian).  No-one else around.  The security guard was disinterested and knew nothing!  The place is completely cordoned off and looks like an abandoned site, which is I guess exactly what it is.  Our agent has gone to ground - luckily we have our own, reliable, lawyer, so not too much to worry about on that side of things.  We've now made our final decision to pull out and look elsewhere..

Mikemandy - meant to add to my earlier post - we visited Mazarron Golf & Country Club too as we hadn't seen it before.  Would agree with your comments completely.  Also have acquaintances on there - they are very unhappy!  Such a shame.

Well surely if it was a totally redundant written off site then they would not be paying a security gaurds wages..??.

Spoke to some friends out there and they are saying if your in phase 1 you'll be ok, thank god I am. Its going to happen, patience will eventually turn into a decent investment I think.

acoulson, we are guilty of trying to buy off-plan through Parador Properties (based in UK), all planning was supposedly in place for Almanzora Country Club, yet 2 years on and very little building has been acheived. We are trying to get our money back due to Huma's breach of contract but having difficulty with Spanish solicitors response, any advice???

Re: "Andalucia" Day - absolutely no idea to be honest.  However, they were still working on the building sites which have sprung up around the town - so read into that what you will.
