 blackpool pleasure beach in acres is 42 acres , whats the latest size for the proposed new theme park , cheers  mejazi10

conversion tables say :

42 acre = 169967.969 m²

 I think the figure for the first parcel of land agreed  is 1.7m square metres so pretty close to 42 acres, but there's a further 1m square metres also available according to the various blurbs from Simply Networking etc.

Interesting thread! For the comparison with Disneyland Paris I looked at Wikipedia:- 

 "Disneyland Paris encompasses 4,800 acres (19 km²)^[20] and contains 2 theme parks, 7 resort hotels, 6 associated hotels, a golf course, railway station and a new town: Val d'Europe."

So that's a total of about 19million square metres

The proposed theme park does seem small in comparison, thoughthe Disney one is 2 theme parks etc; but I'm convinced it's to be done in phases- they have to test the market and they have to get investment so maybe they're just pacing the build in that way. In the current market that makes the most sense and maybe makes it more likely to happen. It doesn't quite seem to equate to the number of visitors that have been touted around but then it'll be open 12 months of the year rather than seasonal which is all good for anyone renting. If 1.7m sqmtres is the size they are starting with then all the better for us as that site is more likely to be concentrated on the actual theme park 1st rather than the hotels and apartments.

They have to start with all the roads and parking and infrastructure for local motorway access but if they actually get that far I'm convinced it will go ahead- fingers crossed anyway..

The initial project is planned for 1.7M SqM ( 420 acres ), with the possibility of further land purchases for expansion to an area totalling over 3M SqM  ( or so the papers say )
