We visited the 'Park Minero' in La Union last week and have to say it was a good day out. English speaking guide took around a dozen of us down into the mine, spoke of its history, what was mined there and how it was processed. Little train takes you from car park to top of moutnain where the mine entrance is (wonderful views right down to Cartagena), then you get kitted out with hard hat and in you go. Large caverns where you can see the pyrite still sparkle in roof of the cavern as well as the rock salts, and then there is the acid lake (bit of an exaggeration) at the bottom and you have a chance to purchase souveneir minerals of what was once mined there. My 12 year old and her friend thought it was a great day out too - would recommend it,
