Hi
Has anyone had a bill through in January. We have received ours and it was for €120. I enquired what it was with the bank as it was only described as direct debit on our statement.
I was informed that it was for the water, which is taken quarterly, can this amount be correct that meansits €40pm. We haven't been out since the meters were installed so this doesn't include any usage.
If anyone could enlighten me it would be appreciated!

Hi Steve
That seems very high. I remember reading on one of the posts that the standing charge was about 20 Euros a qtr. So you should contact Urbaser. We haven't had ours yet but i'll check and post if it seems wrong in any way.
Good Luck

Hi Steve
That does seem expensive, from what i gather most people are only paying about 15-20 euros. I wouls say it is most likely that the cistern on the toilet is overflowing into the bowl, it seems to be a bit of a problem on condado. Might be worth getting a key holder to check it out. I think we all have to start turning off valves when we are not staying on the site.

Thanks Guys
I called the management company to see if they could get in touch with Urbaser, as no-one speaks English, but apparantely I need to tally up the bill to the meter reading.
This is not easy as the bill will be in our post box and we are not over until july!

Thanks for the help Martin and the kind offer.
i have asked my keyholder to have a look again, although she has done this already, but she cannot read the meter as it is locked. As mentioned we cannot get the bill as the post box key is here, so I may have to post it over. We always turn off the water and electricity when we leave as well.
I find it strange that the amount is so exact as well, €120.
As you say cannot afford to have it going to july, it will be more expensive for us than petrol soon!

An update to this, our keyholder has checked the property and there are no visable leaks or toilet cistern problems. The water has been turned off since we left in October.
Urbaser say that the bill is correct and we must have a leak somehwere and should contact ML to sort it out.
This is all a bit of a nightmare(and a joke)!

Hi Sreve
It now looks like you have the same problem that i have. I had posted on another topic about an under ground water leak just after the meter at my apartment. My neighbour turned off the valve about a month after the meters were installed because he could hear the water flowing.....I got onto Milenium-Levante and to be honest they were not very helpful at all....I then got onto Polaris in December and they told me they would get it sorted and to also forward my bill when it arrives.......I got my bill in January for 647 euros so i e-mailed it onto them and they said they would talk to the directors about it. The last e-mail i got was in January to Tell me that all work has been suspended on Condado, and now they will not even reply to my mails at all.
So effectively i have been unable to use my apartment and i don't know when and even if they are going to fix the leak. So i have booked flights for the end of march and i am going to go to the head office and raise hell because i am not happy with their attitude at all.
So good luck with your fight

Hi steviev
If you have no visible leaks anywhere and you are still regisrering high usage it suggests to me that you have a leak either on an internal joint on the pipework or where your supply pipe leaves your meter.Either way contact Urbaser at the e-mail address given in previous post as if they are the only ones with the key to your meter cuboard they would have to come and turn your water supply off at the meter point until such time that the leak can be traced.
Regards
Martin
