I am tempted by the price and mortgage deals for an apartment - i would really like to get some genuine comments about what is is like to live here - it looks  a bit like a posh ghost  town  . i am single and qute gregarious - is there a sense of community or just a lot of people passing through

I hope that someone will reply

thanks in advance

naomi

Hi Naomi

If you are looking to live on Condado on a full time basis then you may find it a bit quiet.  If you are only buying it for holidays and weekends away then it can be a great place.  My sister goes to CDA for the whole of the school summer holidays and her husband is only there for 2/3 of that time the rest of the time she is there on her own with her 7 year old daughter.  She has met plenty of people and seems to have quite a good social life when she is there.

Perhaps you should try renting on CDA to see what you think.  The busy times are obviously the school holiday periods.

Naomi,

Not that I want to prevent single women moving into Condado, however I think you will find there really isnt much to do, especially with regards to nightlife. The closest decent nightlife is in Murcia, but this can be costly in a taxi.

I can see the attraction of Condado for people with kids as they have a safe place to run wild, but as Lindaw164 says, try renting for a while and see what you think. You mentioned it was a bit like a "Posh Ghost Town", but its not really posh!

Two of the rersidents Terry and JIll have set up their own web site www.condadodealhamaservices.com and it could be worth a look as they have a daily blog that included things they are doing and places they have been, events and so on. They also do a weekly live podcast covering much of the same information but they get friend and visitors to CdA on the podcast which delevops a bit of discussion and information.

I think if you say gregarious meaning you want night life then you might find CdA a bit quiet for you though if you visiit a lot and tap into whats happening for the residents and very regualr visitors who meet up you'll propably find they have a bit of a developing social life- though much of it means going off the resort for meals and visits. At the moment there is only The Clover bar which is probably only really busy in the summer months. But, if the Paramount Resort becomes a reality then who knows how much busier the resort could become.
