We will be heading to Roda for Christmas and we are wondering where is the best place to go for christmas dinner?

Any suggestions?

If you want the best selection of places to eat you should actually be looking and contacting people now as the better places get booked up early

Really the Spanish don't celebrate with Christmas Lunch and some of the restaurants that cater for the Englisgh really take the mickey with their prices as my wife describes it as a big Sunday Lunch

One good source of information will be the advertising in the local Engish press online, The Leader, Coastrider and Round Town News online versions as they will all strat running features soon

I have had some good and bad experiences, last year a great lunch well priced in  aplace called Chillies but this is close to Villa Martin as there are plenty of reasonable restaurants in this area but it is  a bit of a drive cfrom RODA and I have already booked for this year

I would also perhaps check what Campbells is planning

Logically the place to start is somewhere in the square in Loa Alcazares, perhaps Rosalins, Flavour or the Bayside but agian you must book early

Hi Ace

What is your budget and l will try and let you know which restaurants best suit your needs? We actually have a place on Roda ourselves and have tried the great majority of restaurants in and around LA, and there are some superb ones.

Not sure what the Roda Clubhouse does, but there are plenty of people who follow this thread who have been themselves and would be able to let you know.

PM me if you prefer.

Tony

We had Xmas lunch at the Clubhouse last year and it couldn't be faulted. Beautifully presented , 5 courses, if memory serves right, and at € 30 per head including wine which flowed freely. And of course you can walk home.

We also had lunch at the Clubhouse last year.

The food was amazing value for money and was presented so well. Also, as Difi said, wine flowed freely and there was a bottle of sparkling wine/champagne (can't remember which) at the end for each table.

It was a last minute decision and we were wary as there was little decoration but the service was excellent and we couldn't fault it. Especially at 30€ a head!

If we were there again this year we'd definitely book again.

Loretta

The vast majority of Spanish Restaurants will almost certainly not open on Xmas day. It is a religious, family day and they celebrate together.

The British ones will almost certainly take the mickey on price for a "jumped up sunday lunch" - believe me I've tried one or two in the last 10 years! The goods ones will probably already be fully booked.

Sorry to sound gloomy but if you can find a Spanish one that would be your best bet. I personally would avoid the English ones like the plague!
