A2Z Internet offer - free Internal calls

Hi all,

Part of the A2Z offer was to include free internal calls on site and within other 'Polaris' resorts, plus free calls to some emergency numbers.

When I phoned to arrange my modem installation for last week, the lady at A2Z actually told me that free internal calls were not part of the offer. And when the guys came round to install the modem, they did nothing to install an internal line.  

Looking at the other recent thread about A2Z, others found that last week they didn't get an internal phone line as expected when their modem/router was installed. 

I've been trying to get to the bottom of this, emailing A2Z, Milenium and a president.

A2Z have now replied today, saying we have to buy their analog telephone for €47.20 in order to get free calls.

I've had a look at the original offer and see no mention of buying their (overpriced) phone in the terms and conditions. But I do remember reading elsewhere that they would sell us a phone for 29 euros if we didn't already have one.

I've already got a spanish landline phone ready and waiting to go, so don't even need theirs.

So I'm a bit confused - are A2Z moving the goalposts ?

The offer was indeed to include the internal phone line, you should only have to plug in your own phone, they even sell them in the supermarket ( although they are half the price elsewhere ) so there seems to be a communications problem with A2Z.  Anyone having such problems should contact Mileniun to progress it.

Hi, do we know what channels are included. Presume premium sports etc are not available?

 The TV has not changed, it's exactly the same as you have now.  The only thing that has changed is the internal line and the cost of the internet connection.

If you just plug in your own phone, how do you know what your phone number is?

if you plug in your own phone at the moment, you don't even get a dial tone.  We are supposed to be each allocated a 4 digit  internal phone number, if and when  A2Z play ball.

I will take it up with Milenium again. I've called into the office and emailed them but with no reply as yet. At least this time I can send them A2Z's reply to me.

Has anyone else actually managed to get the internal phone line set up under this new offer ?

We had our modem installed last Thursday.

My brother asked the engineer about the internal phone line and he said he knew nothing about it.

Emailing ML now.

 I have yet to have my modem installed but I am wondering if I can purchase one in the UK and bring it out next time I am there - sdoes anyone no the spec required? Is it just a standard modem router ? Cheers

 

already covered on earlier thread by Phil Tann think the answer was no you need to go with the A2Z but not sure

 

 I understood that we pay for a phone and installation but  restricted to internal calls and 112 emergency   unless you have landline package 

Also phone is a VOIP phone as cable / internet = not sure about that one

 

 

I've now had another reply from A2Z. They're now saying I can buy the supermarket phone .... but I would then have to pay 35.40 euros to pay for the installation.  This isn't quite how the offer first seemed to me.

On that basis, I don't think I'll even bother. I can make a lot of mobile phone calls for 35 euros, and obviously plenty of apartments are in walking distance anyway if I want to get in touch with anyone.

There is something lost in translation here, I too was under the impression apart from the 28.50 euros for 6 months and the 65.45 euros for connection of the internet, the phone line was included?

A2Z have made the following statement ;-

Dear Sir,

 

The internal line free is included in the agreement, is free and no monthly fees, but in the agreement is not include the telephone, when you have the analogue telephone you can access to internal line free.

It’s cost: 47,20€(40€+VAT)installation include , or you can  buy one  in  supermarket, it cost 29,50€ (25€+VAT) and install it yourself, if you prefer buy the telephone  in supermarket to get access to internal line is necessary that out technical go to your house to connect it, the visit cost: 34,50€ VAT include.

So whilst the internal line is fee, it will cost 34.50 to get it connected.

 

Given that you will only be able to call internally I wouldn't bother.  As you have internet it's better to just use Skype.

 i've just cancelled mine as there seems to be a lot of confusion and mis-info going on here for my liking!

ML need to take this up with A2Z as it clearly states that the package allows you to make internal and emergency calls, nowhere does it say that you need to pay for installation of the phone.

We had a meeting on Wednesday and ml were told to take this up with A2Z. There response is that the offer includes internal calls at no monthly cost but there is a connection fee. Still ongoing, so will see if we can get the fee dropped but I doubt it.

I also had the wifi unit fitted last week (crazy price) but I also thought as per initial email that I would get the phone line. When the man came to install he said I would have to buy the phone at about 40 euro and there would be a call out charge of 35 euro. I think the Spanish see English as money trees. I have also noticed that the phone lines need to be connected in box in kitchen( downstairs apartment). I think we should have looked at individual wifi routers for each garden. Anyone considering the wifi router should be aware the the signal is lost when out of your front garden. I did think that I would be able to sit at the pool online.

 We have a Belkin router we connected to internet point . It seems to send a signal half way across garden. It has a skype wi fi connected to that and we can use extension phones in other apartments. Our Birmingham  skype number works on that phone. You can choose numbers from major cities in UK.   Ideal if you want to pretend you are working from home phone in the Uk and are really by the pool  on CDA!!!

so buy a skype phone and skype to skype is free and buy credit to call out.

Yep having fixed Internet has opened up new possibilities, I use Skype as do a lot of the other residents, if you need a phone drop me a line as I have them in stock, see the links below.
