Yep good news, after a few months delay they have Now started work on moving the old sales office. It will be on the mound next to the practise area and will have an outside terrace so there should be great views across the course. Looking forward to having my first coffee there already :-)

Phil,
The "mound" in question.
Is this between the first tee and driving range...by the existing toilets?
Or is it the area overlooking the 9th and 18th greens?

The area between the 1st tee and driving range has been mentioned previously as the spot for the temp clubhouse.
One reason put forward was that there would be no obstacle in building a permanent clubhouse on the area overlooking the 9th/18th. Maybe that there are exisitng toilets there is also a factor.

Ah can see the logic but once a temporary one is built what are the chances of us getting the real thing. That sounds so negative and my only concern now is the area in front and to the sides of Penthouse block 8&9 as this is an eyesore and needs attention.

your more likely to win the lottery than have a proper club house built where it should be. Once this green house is erected thats all we will get. Its costs millions to build a semi decent club house, and who is going to spend that at CDA in the current climate?
On another note, why is it being put by the 1st tee and Range. Club house should be near the 18th green. Who's idea was this

Hi,
After driving back to the Jardines from a trip to Fuente Alamo, we can confirm that there are men inside the old glass sales office doing stuff !

Dear All
From time to time I drop in and see whats being posted, for the life of me I dont know why I bother, there are a few people working hard to get the residence a nice resort. We are now getting our long awaited Club House yet there are still certain individuals that no matter what that the topic seem to always put a negative spin on thing. Getting this Club House, old sales office that it maybe is a fantastic move forward. Ok its by the first tee, yet most club houses in Spain or the UK are located close to the 1st and the 18, it is only a small walk from the 18 tee.

Without doubt we need a clubhouse and I for one think this is a good move forward. There's no money in the coffers for an all singing and dancing brand new building but at least we will have somewhere to stop off at after a round of golf. Hopefully they'll put in a few showers and there'll be somewhere to get a drink of beer or coffee. I'm expecting t e whole thing will have a refurb and Phil's posted there will be a terrace. In the current financial market with Spain teetering on the brink and I expect the managing golf company struggling economically I think we are lucky they are doing it at all. Now we can have tournaments which will bring in cash and clientel. They'll move the shop I bet and landscape what they can around it without affecting the orignial plot so that come the day the good times return (financially) the proper club house can be built without affecting anything.
Maybe we'll all see an upturn in bookings once this is known about!

Happy Days.
Fantastic new..... we have waited so long for this and now its finally work in progress.
But what is the matter with some people they want the moon on a stick, just be grateful and look forward to sitting on that terrace, relaxing with a drink and think how lucky we are to have a place in the sun on a great golf course that is now really coming together.
Can't wait for our next trip out.

I dont want the moon on a stick at all. I want what I paid for, what i bought into, or should i say what we ALL did
Once this green house gets moved its all we will see at CDA. IMO this is purely to keep the residents / owners sweet.
It is better than noting at the moment, however if its all we are going to get, then at least do it properly and put it in a place where a club house should be, near the 9th & 18th Greens.

I think some people need to get into the real world which wether we like it or not is filled with austerity!!!!
I think some people should be grateful for whatever can be provided at present!!
Unless some people have great difficulty walking 30 yards then I think some people should just sit at home and quietly reflect on what they are saying!!!

I know we'd all like a posh clubhouse- but I'm being realistic.
I'm sure the management company is struggling financially- how can they not be? CdA can't have any real tournaments as there aren't any proper on course facilities. I think they will refurb the sales office, they wont just dump in on what has become the course car park. They can move the buggy's and all the booking can take place there and its sounds like it will have a terrace and somewhere to purchase a drink.
If we can then get more people to come onto CdA us the course, have a drink and then maybe go for a meal at either of the new restaurant (spanish bar restaurant to open by the summer as well as the Bulgarian) its all money going to keep CdA aflloat.

Chaddy,
I'm happy to get anything at the moment because a golf course without a clubhouse is not complete. The war stories need telling straight after the round and its always fun laughing about the various misadventures of the group in the 19th.
But to be fair to Rich I don't think he was complaining about walking 30 yards. It is more that the current position wouldn't give you anywhere near the views that you'd get with a terrace overlooking the 9th and 18th greens.
Some said we'd never get even a temporary clubhouse so in the future you never know...I'll keep on praying.

Its obvious that this temp clubhouse is not what was originally promised but at least its a step forward! There have been repeated threads about how any clubhouse is better than no clubhouse. So we should all be a bit more positive about a movement in the right direction. No, its not what we all bought into but it is hopefully an improvement.
At least, a recent promise looks like its being kept.
As for location, it makes logical sense not to put it where the permanent one is to go (eventually) - and its current proposed position does allow monitoring of the first tee and the driving range. May not help with the late night ball "collection" but it wont make it any worse!
