I quite liked that sales office- it wasn't uber smart like the one on the ring road but was light and aiiry. Got to give it a chance as we have no alternative. I'm sure if there was any money available an alternative would be built- but maybe there's still problems with exactly who owns that bit of land that the proper club house would have been built on. Wouldn't surprise me.
Got to be positive as we should get people from the other PW resorts comming over as they can get a wash and a drink and sample ice cream at Al Kasar after their round of golf. And I can start to advertise our apartments as golf breaks. Got to admit things are improving (hopefully the water issue for all the Jardines is sorted soon)
It's not what we bought into- I should know as we visited the glass sales office and stood on the 1st floor balcony and viewed where the Golf Suites would be situated and where Miridaor apartments would be.
Could do with some pictures as wont be over for quite some time.

There would be no point in putting the temporary clubhouse on the land marked for the permanent one because as and when they do get round to building the real thing they would knock the temporary one down to make way and then you'd have no clubhouse again. The metal framed building looks a mess where it is but use your imagination, I think it'll look good in its new spot

Does anyone have further information on the clubhouse such as:
1) When it will be ready
2) What it will include - bar, showers, pro shop, etc
I am hoping it will be up and running by July...I know by past experiences a very optimistic view but one day something will be ready ON TIME!!

SMV Hello, last Friday I got the regular e mail update from M&L whereby they confirmed it is the old Sales Office thats being moved into position as the new Club House and from a Friend I have who lives on the resort the rumour is that it will be up and ready by the end of June as he spoke to one of the Contractor Supervisors yesterday.
I think this is fantastic news and I for one think having a fully glazed building with a roof top solarium provides us all with 360 degree views.

I personaly think this is stupid that we all except this. everyone bought there property for a reason ie location/shops. once this is there we will never get anything else as a temp solution will then become permanent thing. I always look on this website and read negative and positive people however i always hoped that things would happen on the resort but now we just accept what it is. FAR FROM WHAT WE WERE SOLD!!!!!!

Kelly, get over it, we all accept this is not what we were sold but slowly but surely things are improving.
It's not a case of accepting it as this is the hand we have been dealt. What do you suggest we do?
Lets face the facts, we are never going to get what we paid our money for and even if we had all the coomercial premises would be sitting empty as there is not enough money or trade to keep these things afloat.
A temp clubhouse is better than nothing so we all move forward together and hope that we see a continued improvement.

Kelly, the harsh reality is that Spain is in a very deep financial crisis at the moment and there's simply no money to build the lovely big Clubhouse we all want. It would take years, maybe even decades, for such a huge investment to repay itself in the current economic climate. So, it ain't going happen any time soon, you might as well get used to that.
Now you can throw your toys out the pram and moan and bitch about it, or just be grateful that, relatively speaking, we're still a lot better off than many in Spain at the moment, and it's better than nothing. If you think taking the latter approach is 'stupid', then so be it. Better to be stupid than permanently angry and resentful though IMO. :)
Seriously though, if acceptance of the reality of the situation is stupid, what do you suggest we do? Cos simply bitching and moaning ain't going to make things better, that's for sure. I'm all ears.

I agree - Kelly a lot of permanent residents are working hard to make Condado a great place. We now have the Condado Club up and running and the Clover and restaurant are open, the units in the Al Kasar are slowly being utilised and yes the temporary clubhouse is certainly going to be a lot better than people thought (the old sales office and not portakabins). I actually liked the old sales office with the viewing platform - it is certainly better than nothing. We are lucky on Condado that there is a big effort being made by a lot of people and for that I personally would like to thank them.

I totally agree with the majority of the posters on this thread, there is a global recession and people are still losing their jobs, so no work no income. Yes I agree that this is not what we bought into but I want to thank all the people who have been trying hard to make Condado a success, and it will rise like a phoenix from the ashes but we have to be patient.
In the UK in the last year alone I have seen unfinished or unbuilt developments, mass unemployment, unstable government, riots, double dip recession and many other things that I can't remember. I bet very few if any million pound club houses have been built recently in the UK with the exception of the one built by Donald Trump near Aberdeen that no-body wanted, maybe we should contact him to ask him for a few million to build one on our resort. I live in the real world and am grateful for what Condado has acheived especially in the last year.

I'd love to have a nice big clubhouse with rstaurants, bars, swimming pool etc but it won't happen until the population on CdA increases a lot or something like paramount brings in the punters.
It is unfortunate that the location isn't in the prime viewing spot above the 9th/18th.
But the main thing is we'll have somewhere to go straight off the course for a drink or a snack. And for non-golfers there will be somewhere to sit and have a drink if they are waiting/watching.
It may not be perfect but its a damn good start.

Don't like to put a damper on things but communications from Global Golf suggest that initially there will only be a vending machine and no bar. Assume that means no snacks either unless it from machine. There will be a terrace though.
We have a meeting with them in the morning so maybe things will be clearer then.

Barry,
I'm sure you'd be able to whizz back to your place in a buggy to pick up a few cold ones in a cooler!!
With a few donations of course.
The picture of relaxing on the terrace after a tough old game with a can of fanta...not quite the same.

When I met with IRM a few months ago there was going to be a bar, infact three people had tendered for it. I have another meeting with them next week so will ask why the plans have changed, I know people queuing up to lease a bar there so will see what can be done.

yes meeting took place. Initially there will be no bar only vending machine, Also if any landscaping is done in vicinity plants must come from course - no plans for investment there.
