MGK, why do you think IRM would open a bar there? that is not whsat they do. Who do you think runs the restaurant, Clover and Condado club? They will offer this facility out no doubt. Why wouldn't they.

I think re using an exisiting building is a good idea- it wont be the all singing and dancing club house we expected but truly that time has gone and people should just look forward. Its patently clear that there is limited finance behind this so why do people keep harping on about why more money isn't being spent. As far as I can see they haven't got any funds to do anything more than they are- or they would. IRM aren't daft they know what people want but this is all they can provide. At least there should be somewhere to get a drink, hopefully have a wash, pay fee's. The resort cannot sustain too many bars they take from the some pot of people off season and until resident numbers improve and we get more winter visitors I can't see huge profits shared across several bars and so it puts them in danger of not being able to stay open and we don't want that- do we?

Having just returned from condado, we have witnessed the so called club house being put together. The structure is metal which is all battered and looks worse for wear. It's an eyesore for the lower blocks of penthouses from 9 down to 1. Why was this building not put back on original plot or on waste land where hotel is suppose to go . Word on cobdado is that drink machines are going in for golfers and some table and chairs. No bar or proper services etc., We don't want to be negative as we love our place on condado, but this building does not fit in right and will probably be left there for years. The wooden trolley cabin would have been better to have been converted, as this is always empty of trolleys as most golfers use a buggy.,

Have been reading everyone's comments ., but remember some poor sods have this dilapidated eye sore right outside their apartment blocking what was their view of the golf course., what many paid extra for. No though was given to them was there. People who comment about finances and better than nothing attitude etc., probably live on jardines meters away and don't have to look at it and believe me it's a mess., building wants condemning not resighting!

I can understand people may not want to look out over the new clubhouse, it not being the prettiest thing around.
But I cannot see it blocking views of the golfcourse for many of the units. Most seem to overlook the practice fairway rather than the course and any with height to see over the first hole to other holes probably will still be able to do so.
Many people selected their apartments for closeness to one thing or another or specific views and most have been let down. I'd much prefer what was originally planned, but put me in the better than nothing camp.

Indeed, I'd reserve judgement at least until it's completed, fitted out and the landscaped.
Chelmsford, assuming you accept that in the current financial climate a newbuild clubhouse is not an option, are you saying you'd prefer we had no clubhouse at all?

Building will be fine...............did you ever visit the site cabins that were originally proposed ?? Better than the view previously which was just a rubble mound with a few clumps of grass trying to get established. The penthouses are at an higher elevation anyway any will be able to see right over the top. I took a good look at this building before it was dismantled and it is still in good nick once it has been cleaned up. There was a comment stating any landscapling would have to come from the original course. Well, around the perimiter of where that building used to be there are some fine elegant conifers and ground cover shrubbery together will many plants at the old sales office that could be transferred - use a bit of imagination. Give them a flamin' chance to get it finished before you condem it totally. Have faith and don't expect all singin' all dancin' just yet, but i am confident there will be an air-conditioned bar once someone takes over the running of it.
Regards,

Its been posted elsewhere that 3 people are loooking to run a bar and you have to give it time. The whole thing will get a refurb once in situ- I didn't think it looked too bad but agree it does need tidying up. Think the views from some ground floor penthouses may be obstructed but thats the way things go. As I said in a previous post one day all the Jardines could have properties blocking their golf view. In the end this is for the good of the many rather than the desires of a few.
At La Torre there was upset and grief when a supermarket was built in right on peoples doorsteps- purchasers hadn't expected to be looking right out on that and have the parking problems- this is what can happen when you buy off plan or on an unfinished resort.
I'm sure they'll want it to look as smart as possible- afterall they do want to tempt in tournaments and outside golfers.

I know of at least one - jardines de alhama
Its generally not as up to date as this one as most people use this. Go to find my community under forums above and search for Alhama or something like that.
I've not looked for years so there may be more

La Isla has its own forum! Which I discovered by accident a couple of weeks ago. I find that very strange as surely their issues are also our issues and vice versa. Jon faulkner
