Non Resident buy a car in Spain

Advice please!!!!

We are coming over to Spain on Sunday to buy a car privately.  I have tried to do my research on the internet and by asking people but get different advice from people...

Questions

1.   From what I read on the internet and advice from the Town Hall chap in Milenium office as a non resident we don't need a padron as the Padron is for residents only however people keep telling me we do need to get a padron???

2,  We have been told just to produce the deeds etc to prove we own a property in Spain????

3  Does anyone know where the traffico department is that we have to go to register the car etc?

4  What other documentation will I need apart from the obvious driving docs, insurance etc

5  I take it we will need a translator or where can I find a Gestor??

I have recenly bought a Spanish car, however, I part ex'd my UK car at the dealers.
I asked similar questions to the dealer and these were my answers.
Non Res does NOT need a padron to buy a car. Padron makes you resident and has tax implications.
was asked to take ORIGINAL NIE cert to priove address.
All other requirements were done by dealer. If you buy private you have to do transfer yourself, hence the need for a Gestoria. Sorry, cannot help there as I did not do this myself.

If its Private purchase make sure you see last receipt from Town Hall that all previous years taxes have been paid. How do you know what is owing on car?  Otherwise it is down to you..  Best to call P&P services as Martin said.
