I’ve seen it all now!

They have decided to add another rule to the pool rules in the latest Friday propaganda sheet

“In the rounds in the pools, Securitas has noticed there are some adults in the children swimming pools. We would like to remind you that it is important to use the pools according to the ages”.

So just though you kids in and leave them or if you are an adult that can’t swim tuff.

They have also informed all owners of the email address of presidents.

They don’t work, I have tried them.

When they do it’s widely believed by your presidents that if you use these email addresses to contact you president the administrator also receives a copy of all you say in it.

I think the way things are going with the administrators is a disgrace - The whole Phil Tan Witch hunt, the way they control communication with residents is all a pharce, what kind of company are they and why are those people we voted in place letting them get away with it?

As you have seen happening with PT they are attacking any president that stands up to them, but they are trying.

Boring! This thread is going the same way as the earlier one. I've resisted the urge to post previously as I don't know all the facts BUT I have canvassed opinion and it is divided. There is however a very significant silent number who think ML ARE doing a good job and the facts they produced were reasonable. Don't believe this is all one way.

As for making rules on the resort it doesn't matter anyway because those that have no consideration for others will do what they like. Yesterday our pool was so full of inflatables, footballers and adults in the paddling pool the poor kids couldn't get in. Not a problem to me personally as I don't have any youngsters but not a very considerate way to act for those that do.

As for the two ladies taking their large dog for a walk whilst their three kids ran and played in the sandpits on the golf course (sorry bunkers) last night it's just the same. If they'd been my kids I would have stopped them - not just because it was wrong but because I'd be concerned what they'd catch after the dog had been relieving itself in them.

Those of us that have owned on the resort for 3 or 4 years can remember what it was like before ML. Instead of bleating on about minor things why don't you put pressure on those with thousands of euros of debt in community fees that ML are pursuing or other important matters and support them?

EOS used to be a good source of information but it's become a joke.

By the way - over here at the moment and things are great. Gone are the days of Herbert and no drinks at the bar! Clover and Condado Club being run superbly with great service and entertainment. Alternatives at La Cata and Bocao. Restaurant packed every night. Great fiesta last week (thanks ML) and market on again tonight. Resort very busy and looks superb.It really is developing well and thanks to ML, the presidents generally and the businesses who are working hard to make this a positive place to come to.

Off for a meal out and a few beers in the Clover now along with winning that car so I'll leave you to carry on moaning. Night!

I also agree with you kev1, but I think that many people are concerned that whilst the administrators do seem to have pushed the resort forward and send detailed information of weekly maintenace plus organise the fiesta's and so on. They also oversee the financial management of the resort. Details of all of this is usually published after the AGM but between time my understanding is that all the accounts should be availabe to the Presidents and from what I get from all the rumour/information posted here and there they weren't being made available. I think PT wanted to see them and wouldn't sign anything off until he saw them because he had concerns, which seems a sensiblle move, but as soon as he was ousted from his poisition the accounts were signed off. If I have understood this wrong then my apologies to anyone concerned. I was told information wasn't been made available to PT in English and that was another concern.

I'm a little worried that what we all see and hear is just a suface veneer and that the resort finances need to be visible to whoever needs to view them so we can all be content with what is happening to our money and to our resort. Unfortunately the manner of removing PT from his post set off alarms for me and I'm quite surprised that other people didnt get that also.

Oh some uf us have got it very loud and clear Tony!! and I also agree with chasing the debtors we have one on our garden who has never paid a euro but regularly rents out - why are we still maintaining their gardens etc  and allowing anyone using those apartments to use the facilities (swimming pools, parks etc)? If it was up to me the use of the facilities would be withdrawn immediately......  simples!

And on the message that started the thread I think you have to take a sensible look at what ML are saying.  They are not trying to tell parents to let their babies and toddlers flounder around unaided....they are saying to the adults who park themselves on a lilo/inflattable in the baby pool or decide to have a game of pool tennis to have some consideration and move yourself.  By all means do it when no one is in the pool but cop on and realise its for the little ones first and formost.

I totally agree TQM, every time we go back to CdA we are happy with how the place looks and are pleased that there seems to be developement with the social side of things, but again, as you point out, there are underlying issuse which we as owners should be equally concerned about. The entire budget ML are responsible for is huge, millions and millions of Euros and I believe it would be quite easy to misdirect our attention to the good things ML are doing, rather than the big issue, which in my mind is having total transparancy with OUR financial activities. If there is nothing to 'hide' then all information should be made available and I'm sorry to sound harsh, but that information should include the apartment numbers of those which owe money to the administrator.

One example of my concern is the 'garden maintanance budget'. We all know lights get broken, fences require repair, grass needs cutting, swimming pools need cleaning, etc, but as I've been led to believe, when PT asked to see the breakdown of one particular (rather large) bill, the details where not available to him. Why? If it was shown on the breakdown that 2000 Euro had been paid for each light, or the cost to repaint a single wooden fence was 4500 Euro, we would see that something is wrong. If everything was in order, we would equally see ML are doing a fabulous job with our money. I really don't understand why they don't show us the figures. 

I also agree that the way in which PT was removed has seriously harmed my respect for ML. It was unprofessional, underhanded and quite cruel to be honest. I have heard many things said about Mr T and the things he allegedly got up to, but his removal should have been carried out democratically, even if that meant a secret vote by the other L2/L3 presidents. It seems to me that ML have acted as judge, jury and executioner in this matter and it stinks of bullying to me.

Thanks for the replies guys. Totally agree with the comments. ML aren't perfect and I'm not falling down in support of either side but some of the posts on here are outrageously inaccurate (I'm surprised there hasn't been legal action!). We need the administrators and the presidents to get their heads together and work for the community. Hopefully they will do this. Whatever is said there are a large number of people over here really trying hard to make the resort great - they may make the odd mistake but thats life. Move on and try to make it better.

As for the list of presidents. I immediately e-mailed our president and got a very good response so they do work. I suggest people contact and use their presidents with their opinions and issues on the coomunity rather than immediately posting here or talk to the owners of businesses if they have problems. We should have practical discussions on here rather than accusations and arguments!

I also got that message loud and clear, the finances of Condado should be transparent and available to any President who wishes to view them and this was not happening and like you it rings alarm bells. ML need to remember we are they're employers and they should be doing what we want them to do and not the other way about. Brown envelopes and hand shakes under the table could be the issue here, been found out and they dont like it but thats only speculation on my part, it certainly wouldn't surprise me.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by 'brown envelopes and hand shakes under the table'? Are you alleging corrupt and/or illegal payments are being made by ML? Wow, if so that's an extremely serious allegation to make on a public forum. To whom are these payments being made to, and for what? What evidence do you have to support this?

Well put cappielow, people should not be putting or suggesting allegations of fraud without substantial evidence, especially  on a public forum . Since ML have taken over as administrator we seem to have more being done, repairs etc,  than in pevious years and were paying less in community fees,  can someone please explain this ? As a Director of a (abeit small)l company i would suggest we employ  an independant  accountant /  auditor to constanly oversee the finances, with potentially large sums of money involved,   the cost would be a drop in the ocean and the books would be available for elected presidents to view, end of accusations!!

Please read before commenting. I said in my post it was speculation on my part, did not say I had hard evidence or proof it is my opinion and my opinion alone. Yes PT was trying to get the finance reports and thats when things started to kick of,  Why? cause he may have discovered irregularities and had started to question these, enough said.

Can you confirm from where you heard it  that PT was trying to get the finace reports from ML, because my garden President who is English and has no personal issues with PT has confirmed to me this weekend whilst I was out in CdA for a couple of days that this isnt strictly true. And that a lot of this is just idle gossip on EOS.

On another note, the e mail address that ML sent out to contact my President has worked for me this morning, so maybe the person who had problems may want to try again or maybe the President just hasnt replied to your previous e mail.

I personally don't believe it is acceptable to make outrageous allegations which are, effectively, defamatory, on a pulic forum and then admit that there is no evidence of any sort but that it is just personal speculation and an opinion. Based on what? We're sinking below the gutter here...

By all means let's have opinions but let them be based on some kind of fact or they are worth nothing. They can negatively affect the reputation of a business, an organisation or an individual in a totally unfair way.

 When ML accused PT of tax evasion and various people came on here complaining about tax evasion I assume that ML have all relevant documents and written proof that he wasn't paying tax. And all of this has been passed to the authorities. I am still very concerned the way this was handled by ML, was not democratic in any way, and the way it was done makes people like me. Very suspicious as it is my money they are spending.
