Anyone collect car hire from Dickmanns van at San Javier airport?

I have booked a car hire through Do you Spain and I have been allocated a car to be collected at  the Dickmanns Van situated in the carpark at Murcia airport. Has anyone had a car hire from them and what is the company like. Any info would be great. Thanks,

I was allocated Dickmans during a trip in May this year. The car (Ford Fiesta) was good enough and they are easy to find on the car park with no real queue.

However, they are in my experience, the worst for fuel charges. I was charged 51 euros for half a tank of petrol. A couple of days later I filled the tank completely and it only cost 44 euros !  

I have made four trips to Murcia/ Alicante this year and whilst the majority of car hire companies make something out of the fuel charge the Dickman charge was ridiculous. Not sure if there is anything you can do other than pay and be irritated !

Just met someone who had really bad experience. Car broke down in the middle of the motorway. 3 hours later road assistance arrived and towed it away.

The following day it turned out that the clutch burnt. They said they can give him new car but delivery of the car would be 800 euros.

He said no thank you. Only to discover that over 800 euros was taken from his bank account to fix the clutch. Mind you he did buy the additional insurance as he was told that without it he would have been charged over 3000 euros.

Obviously he was very unlucky but it's worth to buy the additional insurance to cover your back!

Really expensive holidays and no car for the remainder of it.

Ripped me off, avoid

Just used in August, no issues really.

Turn left out of airport and walk to car park entrance to find the van.
Two serving so no real queue.
No hard sell on insurance
Petrol for C3 was around 80euro's - had much worse from goldcar.
They ask for some £300-500 euro deposit. 
Took a while to find car parked on road in front of airport.
Condition okay, only a couple of minor dings. Still nervous about getting billed for them and keep promising to take out annual insurance.
Note: whilst paying one chap came up said car seat well ripped, man signed the form to acknowledge without complaint.
Car ran well sure there was <30k on the clock,

Returned car, to beside van, left ticket inside and dropped off keys although lady serving was anxious i hadn't offered ticket.

Overall fine, as for others

hate gold car - hard sell, big queue's. Once tried to offer free upgrade but then told to pay extra £30 for fuel. So waited till they found my car - sorry if you were waiting behind. 
Victoria was fine,
Record gave a car that vibrated at 100km/h,
Hertz got a good offer on a full/full option. 

We got really bad experience when used Dickmanns, but at the same time we had great service from Goldcar (and everyone else hates them). I supose it all depends on the staff working and the way they treat you. Good luck

Really bad experience with Dickmanns - there is a thread on it! Personally i would avoid, if not, make sure you take photos of the car before and after  and be prepared for no assistance / communication in case of problems.

 I always use them, never had any issue with them, we do fly into Alicante and a bus takes you to their office, no queue, no insurance sell, fuel the same as the other hire companies, no one has ever checked the car when Ireturn they just take the keys and thats it. I would recomend them, give them a try and make your own judgement, all car hire companies have issues.

I have used them a few times in Murcia for long term rentals because they are the cheapest

Cars have generally been OK, not brand new, missing wheel trims and aerial but mechanically sound

My big worry on reading the various forums was them charging for damage which was already on the vechicle, when collected it and not on the contract, which most rental organisations put this on the contracts so I covered this by photographing the existing damage and mailing the rental company and have had no problems on 4 rental contracts

used them several times and no issues whatsoever - decent cars, fuel charges same as the rest (they all make money on this), and no hard sell on the insurance (like some)
