Here are the directions we & several friends/family have used.  The exit from the airport car-hire place has a habit of changing so this may not be entirely correct, but if they follow the road numbers they should be fine.  The highlighted areas are good visual references - something to look out for.  We haven't used Alicante this year so I hope the roads haven't changed drmatically ;-) lol

Hope they help

Exit the multi-storey car park, through the barrier turn left & merge with the one-way traffic coming from your right.  At the next junction (not far away) there will be more car park exit barriers to your left & you need to turn right up the hill (almost doubling back on yourself).  Go up the hill & merge with traffic from the right; stay in the left lane up to the roundabout.  Enter the roundabout & take the 2nd exit signposted E15/A7/A70 Valencia/Murcia (blue sign).  Be aware that the airport exit is very close to the one you need, if you take this by mistake, then you will at least be able to familiarize yourself with the airport….

Follow the signs for E15/A7/A70; after approx 2K the road will bend quite hard to the right again signposted A70 Murcia & AP7 Torrevieja/Cartegena, this will put you onto the A7 (ignore the signs for AP7 Torrevieja from this point on).  Continue along this road (E15/A7) until you reach Murcia City, should take approx 30 mins (you will see signs for Ikea, Neuvo Condominia & the Football Stadium).

Stay on the motorway and as you come in to Murcia City continue to follow the signs for Almeria/Granada.  You will start to pick up signs for A30 Murcia/Cartegna – DO NOT follow these, continue to follow signs for Almeria/Granada; to make it easier stay in the right-hand lane if possible.  As the roads start to section off A30 & A7, there will be a motorway sign for the A7 with a yellow Arabic sign with a picture of a ship on it, shortly after this the A7 bends to the right.  It will look like you’re coming off the A7, as you join what looks like another motorway, don’t worry; it is still the A7 & is still signposted Almeria/Vera/Granada.

Continue on the motorway & the next town signed is Alcantarilla; after this you will pick up signs for Alhama de Murcia. As you near Alhama de Murcia look for Junction 627 (approx 20 mins away from Murcia) which is 1K after a big sign that says ‘El Pozo’ (it is a big factory on your right).

Get into the Right lane for the exit 627; it splits in to 627A & 627B. (The first turn off (627A) is for Alhama de Murcia).  Take the 627B exit which is immediately after 627A (it is a very sharp right hand bend) – signed ‘Bahia de Mazarron’, ‘Mazarron’ & Cartegena’. At Junction 627B you merge with the RM2.  Take the second exit which is junction 4 (it goes from Junction 1 straight to Junction 4 – missing out 2&3) for Mazarron.  You will come to a roundabout & take the 1st exit for the RM23 Mazarron & Puerto de Mazarron.

You will see, in the distance, on your left as you drive up the RM23 a long line of palm trees, these line the road that approaches the main entrance.

CDA will be signposted approx 3 miles along this motorway; it has its own junction.  Come off the motorway, to the roundabout/flyover, take the 2nd main exit (there are several service roads off this roundabout, but you will see the main exits are signposted) to the resort entrance; as you drive up the tree lined road there will be a huge sculpture on the roundabout in front of you with the name of the resort on it.  The whole journey should take approx 65 mins depending on traffic.

Condado de Alhama – Directions from Alicante Airport

Total journey time is approx. 1 hr and 15 mins (120 kms). If using a Sat Nav then ‘Condado de Alhama’ or ‘Signature Course Alhama’ should be found as a golf course.

Take A7/E15 West to Murcia City. After about 35 to 40 mins when coming through the outskirts of Murcia you will find that for a short time the A7 becomes the A30 to Murcia/Cartagena. About 2km after passing the huge Nuevo Condomina shopping centre (and Real Murcia football stadium) on your right and the Thader shopping centre and Ikea on your left, take the exit/salida 138 to A7/E15 Almeira & Granada (but see alternative route below if this exit is missed). Continue on towards Alhama de Murcia and after approx 20 mins ignore the first exit to Alhama de Murcia and about 1 to 2 kms after the El Pozo factory on your right (with high temp/time digital sign) take exit/salida 627b (not 627a) to Cartagena/Fuente Alamo/Mazarron/RM2. After 4 km on RM2 take exit 4 to Mazarron/RM23 and take RM23 to Mazarron. After about 5km on RM23 (and about 2km before you get to where the RM23 joins/turns into the RM3) take exit 5 to Condado de Alhama and take the left turn on the roundabout slip flyover and go up the Palm tree lined entrance road into the resort. When at the roundabout with the large Condado sign go straight over and keep going straight on until you see on the right the Al Kasar shopping centre through a security gate.

Alternatively instead of taking the exit 138 to A7/E15 above in Murcia you can follow the A30 through Murcia and up over the surrounding mountains South towards Cartagena. Then after about 20 minutes from Murcia and about 15 minutes before Cartagena take RM-2 to Fuente Alamo/Alhama de Murcia. Drive for about 15 minutes on the RM-2 passing exits to Fuente Alamo & Hacienda del Alamo (a golf resort visible on your right). As you come down a slope looking at Alhama de Murcia in front of you with the Sierra Espuna mountain behind it, take the RM-23 motorway exit to Mazarron which is just before you get to Alhama de Murcia. The RM-23 Mazarron motorway is a left at the roundabout. After 5 minutes down the RM-23 towards Mazarron (& 2kms before it joins/turns into the RM3) you will come to an exit (salida 5) to Condado de Alhama .

By the way, on the return to Alicante there is a Petrol Station 5 km short of the airport.

Try these, hopefully fairly 'followable'.  Not sure if they've changed the entry to the airport/carparks since our last visit, but worse case scenario, they can drive around once ;-)

Returning to Alicante Airport

Head back towards the main roundabout that puts you on to the RM23, take the 1st exit signposted Alhama de Murcia.  Continue on this road until ends a big roundabout leading on to the RM2 – signposted Alhama de Murcia & Cartagena; take the 3rd exit for Alhama de Murcia.  Carry on this road & you will see signs for the A7 Murcia; the RM2 splits & you need to take the righthand lane for Murcia; merge with the A7 motorway.

Continue along A7, you will pass the El Pozo sign (on your left) & the next town marker is Alcantarilla; after this town maintain your heading towards Murcia.  You will start to pick up signs for A30 Murcia/Cartagena, continue on the A7 Elche/Alcante.  When the road splits you need the lefthand lanes – there will be flashing LED signs telling you to slow down due to the bend.

You continue on the A7 for approx 30 mins; you will not see signs for the airport until you need to turn off!  When you pass the town of Elche, keep heading for Alcante.  You will know you are close to the airport as there will be a set of services either side of the motorway, but the one on the left will have a hotel next to it (none of the other services have this).  The very next exit will be for the airport.  The airport is signposted all the way from there.  There are lots of roads joining & exiting so just keep your wits about you.

As you will have noticed, Alicante has a new terminal & for the most part they have kept up to date with the signposts etc, but this could all change.  On our last trip, we took the middle turning of 3 which is signed for Hire cars (1st being the old car park, 3rd being the old 2nd terminal!).  You will drive past the old Terminal entrance; again take the middle option which will be signposted Hire cars; which is the 2nd entrance into the multi-storey.  Each company has a different level in the car park so you will have to take a note of where you need to be going.  Hopefully that will be you back in one piece & ready for the fight through security ;-)!!
