Hello,,
We have a place at Camposol just up the road and wanted to ask if we or people renting our holiday home at Camposol are able to get onto Condado to use the bars and shops restaurants etc ie .
Would security let us in at the gate ??

Security should issue visitors a temporay pass which is handed out on leaving. Visitors are welcome to use our Bars, Restuarants and Golf course but you will be asked for some ID on arrival.

Not trying to cause arguments, but if asked for ID just to visit a bar or resaurant I would go elsewhere.
I thought all Polaris World Resorts were built on public roads and thus open to the public.

I understand your statement however Condado de Alhama is a Private complex with Security, the Security is the reason why many bought here. The 3000 owners contribute to the cleaning and maintenance of the roads, the Lighting etc not the Public, it forms a large part of our community fees.
Alhama Council maintain the road from the RM 23 to the first Roundabout and the outer ring road is maintained by the Urban Entity which i think is classed a Public, but all areas inside the complex are Private, however all Bars and Restuarants and the Golf course have to be accessable to the public, so our security has the right to ask for ID for the public accessing Condado.
Under Spanish Law ID should be carried at all times.

Hello all .. thanks for replies..I am sure anyone would be prepared to show ID such as passport and would be happy to do so. We have in fact stayed on Condado a couple of times but had the "owners pass" to get through the gates once i had shown my rental agreements and the car was registered. Anyone would support vistors being checked
The landlord of the Irish Pub in the square said he was organsing music nights (not long after they took over)... and thats what we would come to. Plus the option to book a game of golf.
Regards

Not a good Idea. ? hmmm.. but they would they need two sets of security gates and residents would have to pass through them every time they needed shopping or the town centre. Dont think that would go down well. Maybe a visitors car park outside the gates ?

There is a car park just outside the gates, has several thousand spaces. During the summer markets this is used for visitors that have to walk into the resort, I assume it will also be used if/when the public park is opened in front of La Isla.
As Mick says below there was an agreed protocol to allow visitor access to the public commercial areas where all visitors would be issued a coloured card to display in their car. Cars seen outside public areas by security would then be questioned. No idea if this protocol is still being observed or like many other things that were agreed last year it is now being ignored.
