Bankia closing????

Hi Does anyone know anything about the bank Bankia closing down as we have received a letter to say we have to go and see them as they are closing down? Has anyone else received one? Thanks in advance Sharon

It is just some branches closing down. Money saving I suppose. They reckon nothing will change but they asked me for a copy of my passport. Weird.

No. Not many branches of Bankia in Aberdeen!😉 I emailed the manager at Alcantarilla where my branch currently is. They don't seem to realise that we can't just 'pop in' because they send us a letter asking us to visit the branch. Not a very well organised transition. The letters don't even give us a contact tel number. I suspect it'll all go t**s up the next time I attempt to do a transfer from the uk using the old sort code. Hey ho. It's Spain.......

 There is a branch in Murcia.  we too were with the Alcantrialla Branch.  The banks are in a bit of a mess at the moment.

We have our solicitor working on paying off our mortgage as Bankia have lost our papers in the merge.

We have had this letter as well. I have emailed the branch in Mazarrin and am currently waiting for the reply.

I have been told that as my branch - San Javier - is closing, my nearest branch in future will be Murcia or Alicante. That suggests that Mazarron is going too.  I have been told closure date is 23 May and that there is no need to go into the branch - eveything will be changed elctronically. With online banking these days, how can anything go wrong?

Is it clear if they will still have ATM's at these places if the actual offices close?

Our branch is Torrevieja (was Bancaja) although we've never been there as the account was opened for us. We always use Mazarron for Atm withdrawals which is reasonably convenient. I think there is also a branch in Torre Pacheco but I've never managed to find it

Since they introduced charges for using other banks Atms (including Servired), i go on the hunt for a Bankia machine to take out a lump sum to save a few euros

Torre Pacheco is also closing. When i was over at Easer I took my letter to the branch there and the guy behind the desk said as I had a mortgage with them all my accounts would be transferred automatically to Murcia and I didn't have to do anything. He said the Mazarron branch was also closing. This week I got another letter asking me to go into the branch! Left hand right hand. Like previous poster, I am now waiting for all my payments in May to bounce!

We are in the same boat.. our account / mortgage was at San Javier but now migrated at Murcia

I received yesterday a scrap of paper confirming  that our IBAN / Acc number has changed as well  - no worries about sending money down there from this side side and all the t'internet banking works ok but zero mention whether all the standing orders will automatically roll over to the new account... Urbaser / Socamex etc etc ??

I called the English speaking line at Bankia  this morning to ask the question, hung on and hung on some more before finally leaving voicemail so they could call me back  - no response yet

Has anyone spoken to Bankia and had them confirm that all DDs will stil be honoured or do we have to advise all  principles again of the new acc details ??

If this is the case would anyone be able to suggest please suitable methods / contacts for Urbaser and Socamex ?

 I can only go by what happened when Cajamurcia was closed and our account was moved to Bankia with new account details.  All our D/Ds and S/Os remained the same, we didn't have to do anything.  Although actually getting access to our account on-line was a challenge!!!  This time it should be even simpler as it is the same Bank just a different branch and associated account number.  If you log onto your Bankia account it should state your old account details alongside your new one.  Here's hoping !!
