Council Tax - IBI

An update:

I have discovered via my bank that Ayuntamiento de Fuengirola no longer sends out the details of the charge for IBI etc. My direct debit statements for the payments made in July 2014 do not contain the calculations which give rise to the final amount payable. My bank has advised me that the detailed information is not now provided by the Town Hall and they (the bank) send out what the Town Hall provides which is the amount to be paid..

This change is a pity and an inconvenience as the details form the basis of the calculations for the payment of the non-resident income tax in Spain.

You should be getting all your Statements from Patronato de Recaudacion Provincial Diputacion Provincial de Malaga,    Address :- C/Severo Ochoa,32 (P.T.A),29590 Campanillas,Malaga  by Mail,Telephone No 952 029 278  for all your Bills For Car Tax,Basura and I.B.I.  . Their Website is www.prpmalaga.es. You need a Previous Bill to look up your amounts owing on this Website.

I think you need your  input NIE,Matricula and N.Cargo /Recibo Nos into their Screen before your information comes up.

Thank you - it is useful to know of another source to get the information. However I remain hopeful that I can get copies of the bills from the local Town Hall when  I am next in Spain - after all they already have the data which was used to perform the calculation.

I had the same problem regarding the IBI amount. The banks say it is a change in regulations from the EU. The town hall blame the banks, so who knows who is to blame. Like me you don't get them in the post anymore. The best thing to do is do to the town hall, the open square area side. As you walk in, immediately turn right and there is an office there. Go in and ask for copies. Bring your passports and maybe an electric bill and NIE number.
