What are the fixed costs of owning a car in Spain?
In the UK we have road tax & MOT, what are the Spanish equivalents?
Any estimate for insurance? In UK fully comp max no claims I'd expect around £300 for an average car.
Any import tax bringing an LHD from UK? Registration fees to put Spanish plates on? Or is it better to buy one in Spain already registered there?
I understand there are companies who will garage it and deliver to Alicante/Murcia for around €300 pa?
Etc etc.
Just wanting to get a rough idea to see if it's worth taking further.

underpar, yes i bought a low mileage clio from them had no problems with it, the guy to deal with is called santos,you can bargain with him a bit,his english is ok 2

igw - there are plenty self help internet sites, such as Tumbit, which will provide you with all the info you need. I used this site to calculate costs v car hire before deciding to buy a car out here. Used Costa Cars on recommendation and have no complaints, Peter

I've checked a number of sites and unfortunately am getting conflicting information. Could someone who has actually imported and reregistered a car recently provide the details? Also useful if someone could give details for a car purchased locally, to help make an informed comparison. Grateful for any help.

I have just taken delivery of a car from Motorcade Cars Spain, chap called Victor.
Smooth process, car as described, fair price. All dealt with via email.
He seems to deal with ex leaseplan cars which are a bit high on the mileage but fully serviced and well maintained.
Can recommend no problem
