Hi All Sheila here; is there any among our new soon to be neighbours that is/are interested in handicrafts. it would be lovely to be able to form a friendly craft group to meet in our own homes on a regular basis to converse about and/or swap ideas . my crafts are primarilly egg decorating ( in the faberge fashion) but I also do some card making, knitting, cross stitch, embroidery etc etc . any interested, can send private messages if you prefer so we can swap email addresses This message was last edited by volfen on 4/11/2007.

I'll go with the gambling den, I think. Although I do like making cards - may be we could do both.
My tip for the National is
McKelvey @ 18/1 - worth a bit of loose change each way.

I would like to start a jogging group..... we could gamble on who can run up the local mountain the quickest and the winner can win one of Sheilas lovely decorated eggs. Everyones a winner that way, all our hobbies combined in one!!
On a more serious note, im willing to try most things new. I love being social so Shiela depending on when you plan to organise your group (time wise becuase of the kids) I may well like to come and join you. Please be warned i have no experience with this and when my daughters ballet teacher asked me to stitch some elastic into her ballet shoes i burst out laughing, i genuinely thought she was joking..... turns out she wasnt.
Any other joggers out there?

Hi Sheila
I have been making my own cards for about two years now and thoroughly enjoy it. I enjoyed knitting and embroidery but haven't done any for years. My problem with the handicraft group is I will not be a permanent resident but when I come out for my long holidays I would love to join up with your group. I have never decorated eggs but could give it a try. As for jogging Tina, I might try power-walking to the local tapas bar.

Hi Sheila
I can see I shall have to pack a separate suitcase for my card making materials. Do they have the same sort of craft shops in Spain as they have in the UK? I live very close to Sandown Park and Thorpe Park and my sister and I go to the craft fairs when they are held there and we end up spending far too much. Each time we go ,there is always something new to buy!!
Happy Crafting
Regards
Gill

Hi Gill........ I am afraid craft shops as we know them are extremely rare over here. So any part timers among us
may find themselves with a shipping order every time they come over for crafty bits and peices for everyone else
Though i should be able to get my egging supplies mail order from the supplier i used back in the UK.I am almost certain she ships abroad. For card and paper etc it would probably be cheaper to order on the internet and have stuff sent out by post or brought over by some kind soul when they are coming over .But whatever we will manage somehow
I have my knitting wool sent over by a friend who chooses a colour close to what i ask for . Spanish knitting wool isnt really as good as english Gosh dont i burble hehe
hasta luego sheila

Hi Sheila,
Colin and I will be coming out to Spain in September so if you need anything let me know. My sister orders all her craft materials on line and it works out to be cheaper so it looks like that is the way to go.
As it is a hot, sunny day today, I am going to spend the rest of it in the garden pretending I am in Spain.
By the way, have you moved in yet?
Regards
Gill
PS. No I don't think you burble. What a good job you didn't telephone hee heee.

Hi Gill, Thanks very much for the offer Just at the moment i havnt got a clue what craft stuff i have or havnt got . It is all packed in boxes from when we arrived here. I wont gain access to any of it untill we move into our house. But i am sure you will make an excellent courier for all of us that are crafting . the most i am doing just now is knitting A friend in the U.K.is choosing my wool and sending it over as the spanish wool isnt really very good quality. I havnt as yet found a really good craft shop There is a small one in torrevieja, but she concentrates more on card making and dolls houses than anything else and i gave my dolls house away before we came
I cant wait till we do move .It will be like christmas opening all my craft stuff up again
Sheila
