Hi all, we have just had a direct debit for €32,11 taken from our now sabadell bank acc prev Lloyd's/ Halifax this was listed as Sepa ! I've not got a clue what this is, we were in the bank in Mazarron only the other day asking questions but no one mentioned Sepa. So we will have to go back in the bank before we leave for home. Any ideas ? Regards Gill

'SEPA' is a new method of payment within the SEPA area (the EU memebr states + a few others), it isn't the beneficiary, it could be that the payment is 'now' (today) and the beneficiary will show in due course, the new method only went live this month, so if you check back on your Bank statements you may find one for a similar amount at a similar time e.g. monthly, bi-monthly, annually etc

Unbelievably I have just received this text in an email from a solicitor we onced used!
You probably know that from the 1st February 2014 there is a new european initiative called SEPA. The Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) is a project to harmonise the way we make and process retail payments in euro. The goal is to make payments in euros and across Europe as fast, safe and efficient as national payments are today. SEPA enables customers to make cashless euro payments to anyone located anywhere in Europe, for example by credit transfer, direct debit or debit card. This only means that from now on you will have to include your IBAN and Swift code for any european bank transfer.

Going a bit off topic, but were the water bills late coming out this quarter? My meter was read about 23 dec as expected and based on previous 2 or 3 the bill would normally come out mid Jan, but is only out now. Looks like everyone else was the same.

Sepa is a new european system for transfers inside europe, so from the first of February all the transfers made will be SEPA. Socamez is the water company in Alhama.
