I still haven't had a reply from my original solicitor about the status of the pool.  I now have a different solicitor.

She says that from the contract we have signed, the pool should be for the owners of properties at Hacienda San Cayetano (and their guests) - that is the normal way things work.  However, she did promise to follow this up with the builder to clarify the situation.

I'll post again when I have more information.

Diane

Hi

I think there is a lot of confusion over the pool issue, as far as we are aware the pool that has been opened in the village is for the village and for us to use at a fee, but our own pool has not yet been built and won't be until the whole phase has been completed, as you can appreciate it would be full of dust and debris whilst all the building work is still going on. We are delighted that there is a pool  to use even if it does cost a couple of euros as we were not expecting a pool until the end of 2008! and Helder was under the same impression when we were talking to him in April.

Hi All,

As jJulie and Steve have said, it is a real bonus to have a pool to use while ours is being built, Please try it, it is lovely for a small charge. Mostly Spanish children and families but isn't that good?

Regrards,

Pat

Hi

I have just got back from San Cayetano.

The municipal pool is brilliant, there is a lifeguard all the time it is open. It's open to the public from 3pm until 7pm - there are swimming lessons etc each morning. The only day that it is quite busy is Sundays, but apart from that there seems plenty of room. Shower and toilet facilities are excellent too.

According to the sales office onsite, construction of the municipal pool for phase 1 will start in December - ready for completion for next summer season.

Regards

Karen

I managed to get a copy of this email which I think clears up the muddy water of the pool
Dear Water wings,

The infrastructure to the leisure club including the new pool has now been cancelled as per the voting rights of the residents of Phase 1.
The new Club facilities were to include a bar, cafeteria, restaurant, a gym, changing rooms, relaxation loungers and 18 hole golf course. Every member of the San Cayetano development would have been eligible to join - and there was to be no membership fee.
As you are no doubt aware January 2008 will see the start of Phase 8 . We would like to think that our social housing build project is not over ambitious at 1480 units on the land given up by the leisure committee. This township will allow the young homeless of the area to live in inexpensive living accommodations graciously subsidized  by the residents of urbanization  San Cayetano. The internet site ‘utube’ has already gathered a wide ranging application list from as far a field as Poland, the Czech Republic and some parts of the Ukraine.
As a consequence of the cancellation of the Leisure Facilities, I can further confirm that the issue of bus passes to the beach will be issued on a first come first served basis as we have a limited supply. Bus’s run on a regular timetable twice a week, with a current 34% punctuality recorded in the last six month sector. We are working with the bus company and gaining improvements weekly. We understand that they have a long way to go and the figures compare well with British Rail. Due to lower than expected demand, the cost has been set at 100euro each way. Which I’m sure you will agree is competitive. Residents will have to supply their own towels and flip-flops.

Regards
The Committee
