Dear All

Regarding the meeting yesterday - shambolic is the only word which seems appropriate.
Main points to have been discussed were security, stallite installation, state of building, gardens etc.
The meeting was held in the gardens ( it was a very hot day - no shade) - no chairs were supplied, and there was a very distinct Spanish/ English divide - which is a real shame.
Proposal was put forward of 24 hour security from a big local security company - this would have worked out at € 42 being added on to existing monthly community charge for each apartment.
No-one seemed to want to accept this, so another proposal was put forward - which would work out at a 1 off annual payment of € 66.
Phil Turner had kindly got a quote from a local company to make good the automatic locking of the entrance gates, which will undoubtedly improve the general security of the complex. This quote was passed on to the administrator to give to Evemarina - as they should have made sure that this automatic locking was working correctly in the 1st place.
I feel embarrased to say that I cannot give you a crystal clear comment on any of the points discussed.
Paco - of the administration company who has been posting on eye on spain, and has previously translated at meetings - was not able to attend.
A Spanish owner who spoke some English & I - did our best to pass accurate translations on to the English speaking owners present, but this was very difficult, as there was no order whatsoever to the meeting & people were drifting off in small groups to discuss individual points.
Re satellite installation - the Spanish quite clearly don't want this - so Administrators office will be contacting all English speaking owners - then - if X amount of owners vote for the installation - which they undoubtedly will - the total quote will be divided by the people who have voted for it.
Should subsequent owners decide that they want satellite connection - they will have to pay the same amount.
Many important points were not discussed at the meeting -

State of claim against Evemarina for leaving the exterior of the complex in such a poor state.
What is going to be done regarding guttering allowing dirty water to run down the outside of the complex.
General dissatisfaction of how the gardens are being maintained.
Phil Turner had also got a quote from a Brit run garden maintenance company, which he has also passed on to the administrators office.
I am going to mail Paco tomorrow - - to get some clarity on points discussed & will then mail you a more accurate precis of the minutes of the meeting, copies of which you will also get by post from them.
Kind Regards
Jean

Forget to add - that a representative was chosen for each block yesterday at the meeting.

For Royal Lytham  - it is both a Spanish gentleman ( you will be advised of his name) & Phil Turner, without who's dedication - the very slow progress we are now encountering - would no doubt have come to a total halt !!!!!!!!.

Phil & his lovely wife Jan live in the corner penthouse of Royal Lytham - the 1 with all the beautiful plants.

For The Belfry - it is Howard Moores - really nice guy who also lives permanently in Hacienda in apartment 106 The Belfry.

For Muirfiled - it's a lovely Spanish girl called Maria - who lives in 007 Muirfield and speaks absolutely fluent English.

Sorry I cannot yet give you the names of representatives for Pebble Beach and Carnoustie - you will be notified of all owners names & contact details - by the administrator.

Kind Regards

Jean

Hi everyone

Many thanks to Jeannie for an accurate picture of what happened or in fact did not happen at the meeting yesterday.

Just to clarify the point concerning the satellite system, I asked on two occasions for a vote to be taken on the satellite question, through a spanish speaker (ie. Vice President), and, for what ever reason a vote was not put to the owners - I am also emailing Paco tomorrow to ascertain why this was not allowed as any matter on the agenda, as my understanding of it,  is that it should have been put to a vote!

Clearly this is a disappointment for everyone but rest assured we will try and get this matter sorted out. Where we go from here will all depend on the answers we receive from Paco ie. the administrators and of course any news that Jeannie manages to get. There are a few of us who liaise on these matters and try and work for the good of the community as a whole, including all nationalities, and trust that we get an acceptable outcome for everyone!!!!!

Just to mention Howard as, although I gave the estimates to the administrators for the gardens and irrigation, it was through one of his contacts and many thanks for this.

Regards

Phil Turner
