Regarding the meeting yesterday - shambolic is the only word which seems appropriate.
Main points to have been discussed were security, stallite installation, state of building, gardens etc.
The meeting was held in the gardens ( it was a very hot day - no shade) - no chairs were supplied, and there was a very distinct Spanish/ English divide - which is a real shame.
Proposal was put forward of 24 hour security from a big local security company - this would have worked out at € 42 being added on to existing monthly community charge for each apartment.
No-one seemed to want to accept this, so another proposal was put forward - which would work out at a 1 off annual payment of € 66.
Phil Turner had kindly got a quote from a local company to make good the automatic locking of the entrance gates, which will undoubtedly improve the general security of the complex. This quote was passed on to the administrator to give to Evemarina - as they should have made sure that this automatic locking was working correctly in the 1st place.
I feel embarrased to say that I cannot give you a crystal clear comment on any of the points discussed.
Paco - of the administration company who has been posting on eye on spain, and has previously translated at meetings - was not able to attend.
A Spanish owner who spoke some English & I - did our best to pass accurate translations on to the English speaking owners present, but this was very difficult, as there was no order whatsoever to the meeting & people were drifting off in small groups to discuss individual points.
Re satellite installation - the Spanish quite clearly don't want this - so Administrators office will be contacting all English speaking owners - then - if X amount of owners vote for the installation - which they undoubtedly will - the total quote will be divided by the people who have voted for it.
Should subsequent owners decide that they want satellite connection - they will have to pay the same amount.
Many important points were not discussed at the meeting -
State of claim against Evemarina for leaving the exterior of the complex in such a poor state.
What is going to be done regarding guttering allowing dirty water to run down the outside of the complex.
General dissatisfaction of how the gardens are being maintained.
Phil Turner had also got a quote from a Brit run garden maintenance company, which he has also passed on to the administrators office.
I am going to mail Paco tomorrow - - to get some clarity on points discussed & will then mail you a more accurate precis of the minutes of the meeting, copies of which you will also get by post from them.
Kind Regards
Jean
