I looked on the web site again and saw their furniture delivery van which has an address of Lo Santiago.

So it must be their furniture shop.

No mention of a company supermarket or restaurant yet though!

Has anyone had any further news regarding licenses, or when they may be issued. we Are on phase one and like many others need the deeds so we can complete the purchase with a Spanish mortgage.. I have heard nothing new from El Trampolins Laura regarding this issue..All very frustrating.....

Hi Everyone

I'm posting this  because it's nearly a month since the last post and surely there must be some news?

We spent a few weeks in the summer over in Spain and there was still a lot of activity in the commercial centres. The (small) gym is open and the furniture shop was being stocked when we left. Restaurant and supermarket were being fitted out.  New apartments were finished and even some occupied. They have their own pool at the front of the building with great views. If you look at the Company website, there are some new photos under 'Los Miradores'

It is a bit worrying that most of the units will be occupied by Grupo Trampolin but if they give a good service then I suppose it doesnt matter who owns them!

We were asked for our NIE documents (again) about 2 weeks ago and we were told this was to prepare the deeds. We were told that phases 2 and 3 will be handed over before phase 1 (which is where we are!) and this would happen very soon. Been here before!

Has anyone else been contacted for this documentation?

Weather was fab and site will be great when finished!

Hi Jogary, there has been no news in August mainly because nothing ever happens in Spain in August - its there traditional holiday period and almost all the official buildings are closed down.

We are now in September, but unfortunately nothing really to add apart from:

  • We and a number of other permanent residents had a visit last week asking for our outstanding "snagging" lists with a promise that they would start working on them the following day.  "Yeah right" I thought.  Well they did, and all the items I listed have now been fixed as I believe so have many of the other permanent residents.
  • Although some of the shops in the commercial centre have a sign saying "Open", they aren't;  not been able to find out when this is going to happen.  Bad news is that couple who were planning to open the bar in the centre have now pulled out;  hopefully someone else will come along.  No other shops apart from the 6 you know about have any signs up yet - we shall see!!
  • The Bowls Club at the top of the Valle has been taken over by new managers and does excellent Sunday Lunches and are starting to do quizzes and theme nights.  The Russian bar is getting busier by the week!!
  • The best bit of news is that I believe that we will be going over to  Murcia Water this week and we may soon be able to stop carting masses of 8 litre bottles of water and be able to drink the tapwater and use the dishwasher

Hi Worried

Thanks for the update. It's a shame about the bar, we really need one! Good news about the snagging.

I'm so pleased about the water though. Will all the site be on mains water do you know? (we are on phase one) Also, can this be done before we have certificates of occupation? I really hope so.

We had to have a new element in our water heater because the awful water coated the old one and it blew its top. This was before we have ever used it! Also, it was so salty, everything was beginning to rust.

Regards

As I understand, the water will be from the main feed from Murcia Water;  whether we are already on this feed I don't know except to say I drew a glass of water from the tap today, it was very very clear, I drank it, it tasted fine and, as at tonight, I am still alive and feeling my normal self!!

What I can say is that it was definitely not salty and tasted as good as the water from the tap in England, as far as I can remember it!!!!

We are now on our third water heater and our second connection to all the taps.  I believe, that all residents have suffered the same problem so hopefully the new feed will stop this problem.

Hi Worried

Just wondered if you were feeling OK after drinking all that water?

Keep us posted with any news!

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing!

In Spain, it's common knowledge that if you want to get sick, then drink a glass of Spanish tap water and if you want to get really sick....................... drink two!

I certainly would not recommend the drinking of tap water in Spain.

What's the latest on the Deeds?

Why is it that whenever an attempt is made to post a positive comment on this site, somebody else comes along and tries to ridicule it.  I made some throwaway comment about drinking the water (yes I have drunk two glasses and no I do not feel sick, I actually feel quite refreshed!!) and suddenly we have a new thread about what is common knowledge in Spain about drinking the water!!

Do you honestly believe that the Spanish do not drink the tap water;  do you have ice in your drinks when you are over here - where do you think the water that makes it comes from;  do you have salad in a restaurant, what do you think it has been washed in?

Yes, some of us that live permanently on El Trampolin have had some problems with the builders, but it is nothing compared to the lifestyle that we experience by living in Spain.  We live in a house that, from my point of view, I could only dream about in England;  we have weather that the UK can only dream of;  we are welcomed by the Spanish people in Roldan because of the money we are bringing into their community and we have an economic lifestyle that is also to dream of in the UK.

If you are thinking of moving to Spain and expecting everything to be perfect as it is in the UK!!!!!!!!! (Not what I see on Sky News), then please reconsider your decision to move to Spain.  However, if you are ready to encompass a completely new culture and a new way of life, then I can assure you that you will love every minute of living in this beautiful country.

There is a strong Brit community that meets regularly at the Long Bar, The Bowls Club and The Russian Bar and in Los Alcazares if that is what you want but there is also a complete new experience by going to the Spanish Restaurants and Bars and meeting with them and actually having fun by trying to converse with them in our "broken" spanish.

When you try to speak to them in their tongue, they laugh with you not at you as I remember happening in the UK when foreigners visited our shores!!

Calm down there Buddy. Not having a great day then!

If you don't want to avail of a little friendly advise............... then don't!

But to encourage your fellow Brits to drink the tap water in Spain is nothing short of madness. I have seen at first hand the effects of drinking said water can have on visitors and tourists to Spain. On a recent visit to Spain, my daughter was confined to her bedroom for 4 days with regular visits from a local GP (she wouldn't go to hospital) as a direct result of drinking tap water after washing her teeth. We spent 10 days in Spain, she fell ill after only 3 days! Try telling her the water is fine!

I accept that the Spanish drink the water with no ill effects. This is because they have being doing so from birth and their tolerance to the tap water is higher than ours. By the way, I never eat salad or accept ice in the bars and restaurants in Spain, Portugal or indeed anywhere on the continent.

As I said before, if you want to get really sick, then drink two glasses of Spanish tap water. I you feel ridiculed, then I suggest you change your handle from 'Worried' to 'Paranoid'

Have a nice day!

I do not know who is paranoid but it isn't Worried. To damn the whole of the Spanish water system on one bad experience is well over the top. I have drunk the water Worried talks about and it is fine. It has been analysed and is pure. I have lived in Spain for many years and have yet to suffer the consequences of drinking the water, Until recently it was very saline here and did not taste nice but I doubt if it would have harmed you.

How are you?

Do you know if phase 1 is now on mains water? I've asked the office but they haven't got back to me. We were told not to connect our dishwasher until we were on mains. If we are on mains, we can get it all plumbed in. Any news on the commercial centre? We are back in October and we can't wait.

We were also told that phase 2 and 3 deeds were being prepared. Do you know if any progress has been made?

No it is not mains water. Still comes in by tanker but from a much better source and it is drinkable now. No news on escrituras nor Commercial outlets. May need a better access road for the latter before anyone bothers to open up. Solicitors and gym are supposed to be open but not much sign of activity!

Hi exile.

Good news about the water. It's a shame everything else has gone so quiet. When we purchased (so long ago now) we were told that on completion of the development, a new access road would be built inbetween phases 2 and 3 to run alongside the C3319. They seem to have left a wide space for this but obviously nothing has happened yet. Four weeks today and we are coming out again. If you get any news, would you please post it because every day we wonder what is happening. Thanks.

I was thinking of the existing slip road which is lousy not the big through road which if built will be by the Council and they won't do that until they legalise the Development. Don't hold your breath!
