6-8 week Rental required, Costa Brava Area, May and June

I have finally found somewhere that has Marina d'Or property owners. Everytime I search I get Marina d'Ors web pages.

Ok so I need a little help and guidence. I have completed on Costa Azahar 1 , well my solicitor did and I want to know where to go from here.

Whats Servicom like? Any info good or bad

 I have been reading on here and am probably well to steer clear of Alexander Homes, although some seem to think they are good!  Is this a case of  just a few disgruntled clients or just a few happy clients?

Any one know who I can use to rent my property? I will be advertising myself but the more rental I can get the better.

I havent been out for the last 19 months, what has changed?

Is the airport open yet??

As for the airport, work stopped for a while but is back underway and said to be opening in August time 2008. We wait with bated breath lol.

Few new things in Marina d'Or since you were last there, Marina d'Or beach hotel 3*, Gran Duque hotel ( due to open June) 3*, a petrol station, few other themed restaurants, and coming soon ( how soon you ask ) A theme park for children over 8, a water park, and grazy golf. There is also a supermarket under construction, the local Mercadona supermarket, typical spanish. The gardens are bieng extended oh and a car wash station.

Re your comments about Alexander Homes. I have been caught out badly by them and have been in e-mail touch with others similarly affected, so my advice to you would be to steer well clear of them. I have suspicions that some of the "positive" comments about them may not be what they seem.  I have an apt at MD but haven't been out for over a year.Currently rented with AH  -  not a pleasant experience. I had hoped The Americas Cup would improve things for us but I think there is just too much being built at MD and not enough buyers I think it will be a long term investment which is not what I expected when I bought.

I am using Alexander Homes and I calledthem to ask them when I will get paid.They said every 4 month. I had to sign a UK contract and give my account details . The payment is due for end of June ..so I will keep you posted and let you know if I had a problem.

Anyway I only leave 10 minutes from their office ..if I dont get my money I will go to there office to get the cash instead :-)

On the other hand I am trying to sell my flat so If someoen is interested  ....Costa Caribe 2  2 bed ! bathroom for 175000 Euros..

Question for Jenny : Are you sure the airport will be done by August 2008..I have heard that it will be open end of 2008 beginning 2009...

Hiya Ophil,

Up to press its scheduled for August so I have been told. As all things we wait with bated breath, it has been put back so many times now. Like the water park and themed golf on Marina d'Or, was supposed to be completed summer 2007, now will be Easter 2008. In Spain it will be finished when its finished.

I am going along to the airport site this weekend and will post a few pictures of the site..... if there is anything worth while photographing.

On the subject of resale, my friend has just sold her apartment, same spec in Costa Marfil1 for 173,000€ I dont know who through though, I can ask.

When did she sell it ? When is the best time for selling property at marina d'or?

Are all the building finished now on the first and second line?

I find the best time to sell in Marina d'Or is when someone is looking to buy

She completed the sale this week and Ill email her later as she has returnes to the carribean now.

Apartments underway 2nd line, Jardines 1 & 2 and Los Arenas, front line Costa dorada. Also going to be a new build where the big white events tent is now. the tent/marquee will be moved further down the second line.

There is a new model in the tent showing the whole of Marina d'or resort complete, The photo I took was a little dark but will try to get a better one and post it on here.
