HEAD DOORMAN LOOKING FOR WORK IN SPAIN

Hi everyone. I've put messages on the site before as a purchaser of  an apartment in Phase 1 but I thought it might be worth starting up this thread as a potential social log. Is it an idea to post in this section when we are all visiting Corvera so that we might all have an opportunity to meet on-site in the future? A networking idea if you like so we can get to know one another in the build up to completion. From my point of view it would be good to know who my neighbours are going to be and also if we know one another before completion we can help one another practically potentially when we're up and running.

I have booked to go over Sept 5 to 7 and will be at Corvera September 6 if anyone is going over then?

A great idea. Margaret and I have also purchased in phase 1 and we are going over for a couple of weeks holiday from the 26th August to the 8th September so we will be there at the same time as you. We are renting an apartment at Roda Golf. for the duration and It would certainly be nice if we could meet up.

although i dont have any specific dates when i will be back over to corvera,hopefully meet up in the future

yes, really good idea. We are hoping to go over soon probably early July. Would be good to meet up with anyone planning on going then.

We have purchased on Phase 3 due for completion in March 09 (plus IVA)!! so we will be visiting from July 28 to Aug 4th renting at La Torre , would also like to meet the neighbors (great idea) if anyone is visiting that would like to meet up let us know, maybe have a round of golf?

Was in Torrevieja last week for the day applying for our NIE numbers, what a palava, there was more place holders in the queue than actual applicants and to compound the problem they only issued 30 tickets that day and we were 30th and 31st in the queue, lucklily common sense prevailed and as we were last and it was only 11:30am she processed both applications.

Just waiting for the actual numbers to come through now.

Hi we have bought in phase two, and are going over to Los Alcazares on August 5th, will take photos and will post any new info we get.

I have only just found this website/ forum etc.  Its realy cool.

We have bought in phase 2 - and can't wait.  I would love to see more photos. I'm not sure when we will be back out to view the site, probably end September. It would be good to follow the thread and meet up for a beverage or 2 with our potential neighbours.

Jane and I are holidaying in Costa del Sol for the next couple of weeks but intend to do an overnight trip up to Murcia on 10th-11th . Will endevour to photograph and video Corvera developement then and post pics when we return

I visited Corvera yesterday,  There wasn´t a lot of point in taking photos as there was no sign of activity only a few shapes of moved earth on the site and one buldozer moving around.  It is the beginning of August but I had expected some improvement on this.  When I asked about the delay I was told that they still needed a stamp from the Town hall to start building.  This would be obtained in September and they would then start building phase 1 and 2 together.  I was given a completion date of latest 18 months from this stamp!

Has anyone else received any news on completions and delays??

When we went out at the end of May we were told the same as you - and others have been as well (see the Slow Progress thread).  Apparently delay were originally due to local elections - once everything was resolved the start of actual building was set for September as August is "tools down" in Spain.  They will not take up the building licence until that September date because they then become tied in to the 18 month clause in our contracts. 

Think this thread about meeting up is a great idea -  it will be good to get to meet potential neighbours if possible next time we go out - and will keep posting.

We are going over on Sunday and I would have been very disappointed with the progress (or lack of), were it not for your post.

I'm still looking forward to the trip as the kids haven't been over at all yet. Due to lack of progress we have booked flights for January too, (any excuse),  Maybe there might be a few of us heading over around then if so it would be great to meet up. I think this forum is a fantastic way to get to know each other and swap info. Meanwhile if I hear anything while I'm over there I'll post it when I get back on 18th.
