The P G A ties up with Calidona to launch its first P G A branded academies and courses in mainland Europe
The professional golfers association is delighted to announce that a strtegic partnership has been formed with Calidona; which will entail the P G A endorsing Calidona's four spanish venues with the P G A brand, this will be the first such relationship in main land europe
Formed in 1901 the P G A is the worlds oldest professional golfers association and as one of golfs leading bodies is committed to growing and developing the game nationally and internationally, through its academies and its expertise of its professionals.based at Centenary house at the famous De Vere Belfry, scene of four Ryder Cups, the P G A now has 7500 qualified members including more than1500 working overseas in more than 50 different countries- in addition the association also administers more than300 tournaments and enjoys strong ties with the Ryder Cup as both a partner and as a trustee of the Ryder Cup trophy
No lightweight, therfore in the world of the golf, the P G A enforces exalting standards and specifications which must be met before it allows its name to be used to endorse a venue. existing P G A branded facilities include the national golf course and P G A national golf academy at the De Vere Belfry, the P G A centenary golf course at Gleneagles Scotland, and the P G A golf academy in Bejing China, however this is the P G AS first endorcement in mainland Europe.

The first project Roda golf and beach resort will have the latest state of the art video and custom fit golf technology which will be used for both professionals and amatures.
The world class golf facilitiesat Roda have been designed to encourage players of all abilities and thye different course configurations provide a demanding challange for both amatures and professionals.Tha golf course has been designed by Dave Thomas and the academy has been designed to comply withthe technical requirements of the P G A the golf facilities, the 5 star 150 bedroom hotel and the private beach club will be managed by De Vere hotels the uk chain specialising in ownership and management of high quality hotels and resorts.
Corvera golf and country club will become the P G As of europe training academy where golf professionals from all over europe will be able to train all year round especially during winter months when the weather conditions in their own country may prevent them from playing and practicing.
The P G A of europe will also have their overseas office on site. in the intial stages these facilities will be provided at Roda golf and beach resort untill Corvera resort is completed.
As at Roda golf and beach resort the golf course at Corvera golf and country club will be created to a very high qualityin conjunction with the integral golf design by Jose Maria Olazabaland in accordance with P G A s standards and specific requirements.
