Hi, we have just returned from Roda, what a shock to the system this weather is!!

The first part of our holiday was spent entertaining our daughter and partner and their two young children (brave - I know).  We decided to take some of the strain out of things by hiring stuff like, car seats, travel cot, stair gate, bed rail guard.  The company who supplied us were brilliant, everything delivered the morning before our arrival, checked and fitted if necessary, (the car seats had clean covers on them, the straps were clean - they had been thorougly checked before delivery). All the stuff was collected a few hours after the family had flown home; and the best bit!!  we didn't pay a penny until they collected everything.  We shall use them again, and can recommend them to anyone who may be interested.  I understand that the site adjudicator frowns on naming names and advertising, so if anyone wants details please contact me.

Many of you will be on the builder's electricity, via generators. We were speaking to Jose in the sales office and he says that Peinsa are hoping that Ibedrola ( power company) will hook up SDR to the grid in the next month or so, apparently they will need access to the individual junction boxes in each house/apartment.  No-one is too sure how this will be accomplished or indeed - if. Jose did say though that it is costing Peinsa too many euro's to provide diesel to the two generators that power over 300 dwellings - and that problems were going to get much worse as the summer comes on and more people start to  use their a/c

If you go into the penny farthing restaurant on the counter there are some business cards advertising a company that supplies some equipment

It looks as if it is ok to mention names of companies so:-

the nursey hire company we used and would recommend to anyone is http://www.kideasenurseryhire.com/

if you look on their website for a list of available items (including food, nappies, toys etc)  you can email a chap called mick  at  mick@kideasenurseryhire.com  he covers the area from Cabo Roig to La Manga.

Hi cooberpedy

I,m pretty sure that it's ok to mention websites / companies as long as it's not for personal gain - ie, it's not your business you're promoting.

Has anyone any idea on the laws in Spain re kid & car seats? Is it anything like the UK ie, height / age restrictions? I know kids aren't allowed in the front of cars until they are 12 but can't find any other info. Having 'smaller' visitors this summer , so any info gratefully received.

Hi Annie 21

Not too sure on that one, we had a 10 month old and a 4 year old, and the nursery hire company gave us the seats to fit the sizes (weights) of each child.  You could ask them - they should know as they are supplying safety items.  try emailing

mick@kideasenurseryhire.com     I wouldn't put too much faith in what the hire companies say - they thought our monster 10month old would be ok in a rear facing seat (his knees would have been round his neck!!)

Thanks Cooberpedy - I asked the same question on the general site & the concensus seems to be that the law is as clear as mud!! Think we'll try & bring the booster seat for the 3 year old with us & make sure all the kids are in the back seat. Hopefully complying with the law !!
