Hi Jason,

Thank you for your email of the 11th June.

Apologies for not contacting you sooner, I have only just received an update from the constructor.

Procobar has advised that there will be a further delay with regard the infrastructure at Sierra Golf and they do not expect the work to be completed before October. They have explained that the problem is due to a shortage of labour. Our Progress Department will be contacting the constructor on a monthly basis to assess the situation, and if Procobar provide any further information I will contact you. I will forward a delay letter to you today.

hi everyone

                    just got back from sg,no progress on site that i can see since my last visit at easter,there are more places built but none that i can see are any nearer completion.internal roads,pathways etc are exactly the same.there is some grass on golf course ,but very little.i have just applied for nie number in cartagena with my solicitor which was very easy,he was very surprised that i was talking in terms of a few months as he knows the plans for for the roads to service all the surrounding resorts .there appears to be road construction going on immediately outside the perimiter of sg which is good

More Bad news I'm afraid (Sorry!!!!!!)

Just got this response from masa after i complained.

Dear Jason,

Thank you for your email of the 15th June.

I can totally understand your frustration with regard to the situation.

I have been informed that apart from the fact that they have an insufficient workforce on site, there is a further issue regarding the timescale that it is taking to issue the relevant documentation for your property. This is an issue between the constructor and the Town Hall and unfortunately, we unable to assist in this situation.

I will keep you informed of any further developments.

Hi All,

Just got back from visiting area yesterday. Not much appeared to be happening at SG but it was very HOT. We first managed to get on site ourselves on Sun pm - no sign of any security . Roads around our area(M15 etc) all done except for final top layer of tarmac - can't see that this would be a problem as we have been living in rented accom. here in the UK for nearly 3 Years on a new development and all the roads here are still awaiting that final top layer. The pavements next to green areas are done but not the ones fronting properties.

We visited again on Mon. with our agent who advised us that the pavements could be finished quite quickly once the water and elect. has been sorted. There doesn't appear to be a problem with the water ( just a matter of testing ) but the elect. is another matter -- apparently this has to be connected up by the Electricity Board and they are way behind schedule with all their works ( We rented an appartment at Senoro de Roda for the week and the properties there are still getting their Elect from big generators even after 3 or 4 years ! )

We can also confirm other comments that the Commercial Centre will have a Bar/Restaurant , a Bank and also Masa's  Sales Office , which will be moved from the temporary Portacabin.

It is not easy to see what other work should be required before we can all move ? Can Murcia Council release the properties for handover if Masa supply large Gererators for our Elect.?? We just don't know ! Our agents also are buying the house next door to us and they are getting as p----d off with it all as we are.

If the news about Masa's lack of manpower is correct then we suggest organising our own work-party to finish the project ( We would all want to be paid for our efforts , though )

Hi all, thanks for the updates.  It sounds as if the problems are going to delay things for quite a while longer.  If there is an issue with the town hall regarding documentation it's not advisable to complete until we know that everything is legal.

I've received a reply from Maria de Castro regarding the delays and our contracts.  If anyone is interested please send a PM .
