Hi, just heard from Atlas, they are now telling clients that Masa have told them completion for our site should be September (don't know what year}. Masa are blaming the local authorities for the delay.
I have reminded them that as we are their clients they have a legal requirement to act on our behalf, to which they responded that they don't have that many clients on that site. It would be interesting to know how many have bought through Atlas, if we all get together and complain en-masse they might get the message and put pressure on both the builders and the local Town Hall.
On another thread my brother in law, who lives in Lanzarote, informs me that there is a Snanish law that if three people complain to their local police stationabout their builders, the police can enforce those builders to complete or put them out of business. As soon as I receive the legal bits and pieces on this I'll post it on the site
Hasta luega

Hi Brian,
Yes I agree, it would be interesting to see who has bought through which agent, we are buying through Atlas. It would also be interesting to know what dates people have been given for completion especially those in 2004. Perhaps we could log these and try to make sense of them.
We paid deposit Oct 06 and completion date should have been March 31st 07, then 30th June 07 now ..... still waiting for written, verbally they say November. If you read all the Masa literature for the whole site they advertise a 18 hole golf course and 3,000 homes, Aude in the site office told us only 400 have been sold 100 more to sell on phase 1. And an agent called Mercers are advertising that the properties will be ready in November, the hotel in 2 years and that there is a communal pool, which there definitely isn't.
It is time these agents got their act together and found out exactly what is happening on Sierra Golf and get some answers for us. I think people would be prepared to put up with the waite if they had a definite date and some idea of what the problem was, be it water, electric, roads or even the certificate for the golf course which also seems to be missing, but this big mystery is what makes people suspicious.

Hi
We bought through Luz del Sol in Kent. We paid a deposit in May 2004 and was given a completion date of third quarter 2005 (with a possible extension of 6 months). Every now and then we have been advised there is a 6 month delay for no apparent reason, and the last info we received in Feb 2007 was to say they were just waiting for fences and furnishings! They seem to think everything else was in place. Considering they have also got offices near to site, I would have thought their info would be more accurate. I have today emailed them with a list of questions which may or may not be answered. Normally if I have asked them something specific I just get told to contact MASA's sales office - and we all know what a lot of use that is.

David & Maureen M54 -18.
Atlas are our agents. We paid our deposit back in October 06 and have had the same delays. We are still waiting for the latest completion date to be changed from June 07.
I agree that if we were told exactly what the delays are then there would be less to worry about.
I find it hard getting answers to just about anything through Atlas. Recently I have asked twice if there is going to be a perimeter wall/fence and a "back lane" around the site. As we are on the outside of the development then it is obviously important to us to know what measures we need to take for security of the property, other than the obvious. Atlas have not replied so far. Does anyone else know?
We are also a bit unsure about grills on the windows. We are buying an Open+ with only one entrance so would feel a bit worrried in case of a fire. We will be putting in an alarm system though so if anyone else knows of a good company over there then let us know about that too please.
For all that, we are still looking forward to the handover day. A bit of sunshine wouldn't go amiss at the moment!

Hi
Chris & sandra M16 20
Bought through Iberian International and have found them very understanding and easy to talk too. I think the agents know as much as we do at the moment but they are the agents and should be acting on our behalf i.e. pushing things harder.
David & Maureen - Heres a number of a guy in Spain who does alarms and air conditioning, Terry 0034 655176672 . I have met him in person, hes english and a very nice guy. He can also put you in touch with someone else who does the grills. Also he can rent properties if you need to stay somewhere for a wee break. Very close to SG about 15mins drive.
Hope this is of any use to you
