Maternity pay and moving to Spain?

The president has called a meeting of phase 3 owners for tomorrow Friday 3rd to discuss who should supply satellite systems. As you are probably aware, an agreeement was reached between Arenal and Exclusive for equipment to be supplied and connections to be carried out by Exclusive. I and many others have since paid for connection to the system. It is not known why the president feels it is necessary to replace the existing systems which work perfectly well but he has asked representatives from Exclusive not to attend the meeting, suggesting that they will be replaced. If this happens then those of us who have paid for connection will be left without a supply. Apart from the inconvenience and cost we will suffer, as a community we will be asked to pay again for a replacement supply. This will be a total waste of the community's money which is in fact in contradiction to the terms under which the president is expected to work.

I will be unable to attend the meeting as I am in England as I am sure are many of you. The majority of those attending will therefore be Spanish who have not subscribed to the existing system and stand to lose nothing. I would ask all of you to contact the president and ask him to explain why he has called the meeting and what action will be taken to ensure that the community money is not wasted if it is decided that another supplier will be engaged. Heaven forbid that anything underhand should be happening!!!

I am writing on behalf of my friend who has an apartment on phase 3.  She has had her satalite connected by Exclusive at a reasonable cost.  Her understanding was that he was to complete all the work on the apartments or phases which would be tidier as people can tap into the dish rather than having an overkill of dishes on the apartments.  I have also put my name down to have a dish on phase 4.  How can my friend express her views on the matter as she is unable to attend the meeting?

Has anyone of the owners received a letter giving sufficient notice to reply whether  they can attend or not and if they can't enabling you to give your vote by proxy to someone you nominate?  This seem that this is a very one-sided attempt at running this community in favour of the Spanish.  Do not be surprised to hear that the contract has been given to a Spanish firm which smacks of back-handers.    We have another property  which we let out in Benalmadena and have given our proxy vote to our long-term tenants in the past to express our wishes on the agenda and vote accordingly with our wishes. it would be a suggestion that if there is someone who lives there on Phase 3 permanently be given the proxy for people who  are absent and cannot attend so they have some say in the matter.

I have spoken to our lawyer today expressing our concern about not being informed about community meetings. However she tells me that providing a notice is posted on the notice board inside the blocks (which has apparently been done) it is perfectly legal for them to hold a meeting.

She advised that all non-resident owners who are not happy with this should make a formal written complaint to the administration and request that in future, a letter advising of any forthcoming meetings should be sent to your home address. She said if they agree to this you will be charged for the stamp!. I doubt this will do any good but it has to be worth a try. She also said you may give your permission in writing to another resident to vote on your behalf. You do not need an official form for this.

 I have an apartment on Phase 3 and have paid to be connected to the communal satellite dish installed by Exclusive. 

 I received no letter about this meeting and will not be in Spain on the 3rd to attend.  But as I did by chance attended a meeting in May called by the President for Phase 3  I’m not sure it would make a great deal of difference, as he speaks no English at all and couldn’t answer any of my questions.

Does anyone know the outcome of the meeting on Aug 3rd,particularly regarding Sky TV.   What else was discussed???

As soon as my apartment  is handed over hopefully end of september i will be living permantly in block 2 phase four if you could arrange a vote by proxy  for comunity meetings i will be happy to put your vote in for you and send you details of the outcome
